I'd like to see you continue to restore this old dozer to an operational state. So far, it's been a great way to learn how to completely go through an old cat if I were to come across one. I'm in the process of starting a general equipment repair shop, so these videos are gold to me. I want to thank you because guys like you (you've been the best so far) make it so a guy like me can take on jobs or projects I'd otherwise not take. I would pay more to shadow you than go to a trade school. The wealth of knowledge you have about the shit I love is obvious, lol. You live my dream, haha. God bless you and your family. Thank you again, Matt.

You should restore that mower and put it up in your new shop as a display and reminder of where you came from.

I was in the market for an old D4 CAT when I came across a Massey Ferguson 2244 Crawler that I purchased instead. I am glad the 2244 does not have a pony motor. The 2244 needed all new wiring, hydraulic hoses, fuel lift pump, and injection pump gaskets, but it runs great now. The old Perkins diesel fires right up even when cold after it has sat for months. Love these old machines, keep bringing them back to life!

30:10 phaser rattle. You need new phasers and i'd do the timing chains too. not a bad purchase. just change the transmission fluid too.

Also are you sure it is not the 3.5 N/A? Doesn't sound like it has a turbo.

That pony is only running on one cylinder, the diesel will probably start better if you can get it up to full power.

Bit late for my opinion, this only just turned up in my feed, my father worked for IH and when he was younger he and my grandfather farmed with a couple Ms , I think an H and an A (cub) I was pretty young, if only could keep one it would be the M for sentimental reasons.

Matt, you and Mustie 1 are the 2 most honest and knowledgeable guys i ever seen, what i like about your u tube shows is your honesty, if your not sure about anything you work on, you admit you dont know, i like that, also i like how you include your viewers in your videos, you ask your viewers their thoughts and include them as if they were working on your projects. But your videos are really great. They bring me lots of good viewing, and lots of knowledge you and mustie 1 provide . Thank you so much, and keep up the good work.

Looking at the valve cover and the engine paint I think you might have a silver 92 series Detroit, also the 1979 build date makes me feel you have a 92 series engine ❤❤❤

Awsome! I Love Seeing these caterpillar videos. I have never seen one in real life or heard one . I'm from Sweden and my grandpa (now 90 years old) was a one man company by digging and moving dirt. And he had catepillars. If I remember right he had a D9 (maby in the 70s) from what I heard are those huge. 😅 He also had a dodge adventurer pickup truck as the company vehicle. And a Dodge Dart 1969 as a daily driver. For me is that pretty awesome. That might sound normal in the USA but considering its Sweden we're talking about and a small town like this out on the countryside I think it cool. I love old vehicles and especially the American cars just like my grandpa and dad :)
