Clean and rare! My first hot rod was a '57 Ford Custom, 2 door. It had the gold side trim like the Fairlanes. Power was originally a 6 when I bought it. Swapped it for a 292 V-8 and had 3 dueces on it for a while but they leaked and I switched to a 4V carb. 8) Had a heavy duty 3 speed stick. With dual exhaust, I alternated between mellow tone glasspack mufflers and straight pipes all the way back to the bumpers. One of the baddest sounding Fords in my state with the straight pipes. Did the bodywork and painted it 1963 Corvette Nassau Blue in 1965. J.C. Whitney black and white tuck and roll vinyl interior and black, deep pile carpets. Baby blue steel wheels with chrome acorn lug nut covers and center hub covers. I still miss it and would love to have another like it.

My dad had a 57 Ford custom two door with a 272 V-8. Color willow green. I learned to drive in that car. The 272 was a great running engine. It had a three speed but it was a striped down car no radio except it was a V-8 instead a 6. Fun to drive.

Shame that the 57 ford aren’t as prominent as the 57 Chevies these days despite the fact that they outsold them back in the day. Love both tho but I have a soft spot for that hood in the 57 ford.

What an impressive car. The bodywork is spotless. The body didn't need any mods, it's so nice in stock form. It's a dream drivetrain too. A side oiler with a 6 speed behind it, doesn't get much better.

Mine is near identical but mine has a de-stroked For 427 FE engine and a Ford top-loader 4 speed transmission. Mine has a black/gray interior. I've owned the car since 1969. 1970, I put the de-stroked 427 engine in it. I still have the car and it's still street-legal. Look at my profile photo. That was taken in 1970 when I set it's first NHRA E/G record. By 1973, it had set two more NHRA records.

It's 7 years later now, I hope David is still enjoying his '57, looks fantastic. Thanks for the video, Scottie. I had a '57 as a teenager - long ago -, had a 312, 4-barrel carb. I live in Coastal Virginia and rust pretty much took it away.

WOW Dude, amazing touches. Unfortunately, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in my country has changed their policies by not allowing people to import cars that has less than five years model from the current year ( like we are in 2014, then car should be 2009 model and above), it is ridiculous because i wanted to buy a classical car from US. So i decided to do my own project and that's why i subscribed to your channel. Thank you dude for what are you doing it is really appreciated. Peace From Middle East :-)
