Yes Frost plugs do rust or come out & I had one fell out one car had years ago and lose Antifreeze like crazy for 3 months! Then found it was in tight location to fix and save me troubles in long run !

Love the videos, but it sad just seeing those vehicles sitting in brush again after already rescuing from the woods before. You honestly should after you get something running, driving, and stopping should sell them where someone can enjoy them as well. I'm going to get some oil in it, coolant in it, get it up to temperature, and then adjust the valves!

That white thing is a ballast resistor when it is cold it puts full 12 volt to the coil as it runs it warms up and cuts it down to 6 volts plus it need mounted to the firewall to despite the heat the motor block isnt i idea place

Great to see you guys again. What is it about Fords and the freeze plugs rotting out. I had a 86 F-150 4x4 with a 302 engine that I had freeze plugs that were totally rotted and I had to send the truck to a garage because I couldn’t maneuver my big hands enough to do the job. Seems like all of the larger freeze plugs needed to be replaced. I guess the 312 Ford engine is the only one that I had never dealt with before and was really surprised that the distributor was in the back of the engine. Maybe within the next few days we can get some warmer weather because it has been single digit temperatures here in Kentucky for the last few days. I have a ruptured water line to repair and hopefully none of the piping burst in my house. 2024 started out pretty badly, So I really appreciate seeing your video in which I can smile about something again.

Rav I'm just wondering if you knew you didn't 1957 Chevrolet had come out with fuel injection the Fords answer to that was I believe a 312 engine with a blower and there was only a couple made with that setup which I believe was used to run I know of a 57 Ford which is stuff I've watched on the KZbin it was that had been restored and this is learn the story

Glad to see your Dad wanting to move the car from that particular spot. Parking next to a tree or in the bushes will work against the car with the rot of the leaves and humidity. If he can get either a bit of garage space or some open space it'd stop that fogging up on the inside of the window [that may be a sign also that the mice are building hotels again as well] d'oh! lol
