Hey Chris, I love the look you've managed to achieve. I'm 62 and been around Jeeps since I was 5. I bought my first Willys Wagon (a 1960) in '85 or '86. Just a word to the wise: I've seen a lot of guys drop their tailgates just the way you did, with the handles pointed out. Man to man, brother... you don't wanna do that! Let's just say if you are a bass or baritone singer, you'll soon be a soprano whether you like it or not, my friend! Eeyow!! Also, don't ever let your finger get pinched in the hinge of the upper window portion of the tailgates. After cursing in every language that you know (in my case, 3!), it's gonna take weeks, maybe even months for that to heal. Although yours doesn't look as rusty as mine did. LOL! Long story short, my '60 was stolen in '99 and I only just found a suitable replacement (a '59, my birth year btw). There aren't 2 of these things alike out there, and fewer of 'em too. So glad to see yours and the care & craftsmanship that you put in to it. I hope you hang on to it and keep it alive all your days. God bless you all... and maybe see ya out there one day! Allan

Thank you so much! We will definitely keep our fingers out of the way of the hinges. Sorry to hear that your wagon got stolen but I hope this newer one brings you awesome experiences. My father laughs at me because of how protective I am over the wagon. He may one day see why, but let’s hope that he doesn’t. Keep Jeep N’ my friend. -The Hicks

For the frame swap, was it a direct fit as far as length goes?
@CodyHicks2 жыл бұрын
The Wagoneer frame is 4inchs longer than the stock Willys frame. The rear wheel well was centered over the axel and front axel was allowed to be 4” further which goes unnoticed with the open flat fender. The advantage is that with a 35 inch tire it gives plenty of clearance.

Awesome Build Cody! What modifications were made to the seats to lower them?
@CodyHicks2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We appreciate you watching and asking questions. So we took a cut off wheel to the original seat bracket, then welded those pieces to flat plate metal and bolted it to the floor board. If you would like to see pictures, email me at codyhicks903@gmail.com

Hey Cody .. did you say what chassis you replaced the old Willys with? ..
@CodyHicks2 жыл бұрын
This wagon was swapped onto a 79’ Cherokee Chief (2 door version) Wide Track with the stock Dana 44 axles both front and rear.

Is that the original drive train?

This is not original drive train. Check out our other video of us going over the entire wagon.

What year Durango did the seats come from? Look great.
@CodyHicks2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We don’t remember what year Durango these rear seats came out of but it’s with in 2004-2009. It’s actually the third row out of a Dodge Durango. Originally the seats were grey but were dyed black to match up with the seats in the front.

The seats you installed you said came out of a Cadillac Escalade - I was wondering about the passenger seat how it folded and could tumbled forward. Was this a stock feature of the Cadillac Escalade or did you have to do any modifications to allow it to tumble forward for passenger access? I have the square verses like yours round instrument panel. Could you tell me where you sent instrument panel to for the modifications?
@CodyHicks2 жыл бұрын
The gauges were not sent to any shops for modifications but was purchased off of Speed Hut. The seats are actually the second row out of a Cadillac Escalade. Only the second row has the stock fold and tumble features to allow for people to enter the third row. So in our case we have second row seats for our driver and passenger seat.

Chris, can you provide the speedo model number?
@CodyHicks2 жыл бұрын
Just want to start off by saying we appreciate you watching our video! So in the Red Willys the speedo came from SpeedHut.com. You can choose what colors you like to have on during the day and what it will change into for the night. These are all custom to you! Some gauges just like the one you see in the video has an extra needle to watch rpm. The smaller gauges we got off SpeedHut.com too! Here’s the link for the Speedometer we used: speedhut.com/gauge-application/cj-jeep/5-1-2-cj-jeep-gps-speedometer-cluster-90mph-speedo-fuel-level-temp/?dd-link=0kfwug6xnj6
