I know that Atlantis acquired this kit's molds along with a few other's like the Tom Mcewen 1957 Bel Air funny car which is now available as a reissue. Atlantis has spent a considerable amount of money acquiring and retooling the molds to put out model kits that haven't been seen in many years so BRAVO Atlantis, and the other companies for helping this hobby grow and flourish.

i still have the original from either 80's or 90's. I need to get to building all these older kits due to their decals going bad in case newer ones are not available.

Interesting to see this pop up here as HPIguys did a review of a newly rereleased version of one of it's sister cars in this old Revell series of cars, the Mongoose McEwen 57 Chevy.

Model kits are now extremely high priced so much so that young people are being priced out of the market. Most model car builders are adults that have the means to spend 50 dollars a pop for the kit and paint. It's no wonder this hobby is dying. Younger folks cant afford it.
@RightOnReplicas3 жыл бұрын
RBS, It is more expensive but allowing for inflation it's not as much as it seams. Our McD's pays $15/hr! When this kits were new it paid about .85 cents/hr. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug

That actually looks more like a big block Chevy if that was a big block Mopar the distributor would have been in the front
@RightOnReplicas2 жыл бұрын
Jacob, I think this was a custom built engine. The instructions say, "Under the hood lurks a 557 cubic inch Chrysler wedge engine cranking out 1600 HP". They may have substituted something else but I don't think they would make this claim then, "On the side panel of Detail Features it states : ”Detailed 1600 HP engine with Christine valve covers.” You be the judge! Thanks for watching! -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug

@@RightOnReplicas I do enjoy your videos I hope you don't think I was trying to correct you at all I was just making an observation based on the location of the distributor and the front of the engine cuz the water pump or where the water pump would be didn't look right to me

Jackob, I know what you mean. No problem there. I was just giving the reasons we described it the way we did. Model on! -Thanks. Doug
