During the making of the film they used Belvederes, Savoys, Plazas and yes, a couple of Furys, dressed in the colours because Furies were becoming increasingly rare. This man has a BEAUTIFUL and completely authentic Christine, just because it's not a Fury, doesn't mean it isn't a Christine. She's still in there somewhere, Shitter.

IMHO by far the most aesthetically appealing car to come out of the 1950s. Too bad they suffered from the Chrysler curse of shitty sheet metal that was prone to rusting out. I still see Chevy Bel Aires all over the place but I've laid eyes on exactly three 1958 Plymouths in my life. Two of them were Furies owned by the same guy. Beautiful as they were, sadly they just weren't built to last. Cryin' goddamn shame if you ask me.

Some more facts for you to learn: "Christine didn't bare the 58 Fury Buckskin Beige paint nor the gold anodized aluminum side trim and grille. Her interior was custom and was never available to 58 Furys from factory. The 2x 4bbl 350 cui. Golden Commando was one of the two engines that were available to Furys in 1958, but also came optional in Belvederes. The 150 mph speedo was one feature that remained exclusive to the 58 Fury." By the way, there's a real Fury rusting away in my back yard! :)

@AudioMobil12 жыл бұрын
In fact, all 1958 (and even 1957) Plymouths look almost the same but only Fury, Belvedere and Savoy were available as 2dr hardtop. The Savoy was the lower model with different trim and less options, followed by the Belvedere. The Fury was the top model but every 2dr HT has the same body and looks basically the same. That's why every 2dr coupé can be used to look like Christine. It's been told that only a few of the cars used for the movie were actual Furys, most of them were Belvederes.

This would be soooo perfect if it was actually a Fury. But still, beautiful car and nice video.
@Dedlokdrum12 жыл бұрын
Just FYI, The 'Fury' was a trim level and engine option for Plymouth's Belvedere range in the 50's. I also think you'll find that it was Stephen King who made the mistake in his book, for Christine to have been a Fury she would have to have been painted Buckskin Beige, have gold anodized trim, and 'Torqueflite' transmission. In the book Stephen King says that she's Red/Silver finish and 'Hydromatic' transmission (Hydromatic was a GM design for Cadillacs and Oldsmobiles, NOT a Plymouth design).
@ArcherMorningside8 ай бұрын
In the book she was also a sedan

@WhiteSilverKusanagi Well, is Christine a real Fury? Apart from the 150mph speedometer there aren't many Fury specific parts...
@cyrus13813 жыл бұрын
@WhiteSilverKusanagi But if you look closely at the features of the movie car, alot of them have more in common with the Belvedere specs.
@AudioMobil12 жыл бұрын
The name sounds familiar to me. I think I know a guy named Freddy from Belgium. He prints T-Shirts and has a restored Christine replica, I heard he bought another rotten 57 / 58 Plymouth to make it look like Christine when Arnie bought her at the beginning of the movie. But this was already several years ago...
@gibson049812 жыл бұрын
love christine , i shared it on the facebook page movie cars replica's great car i had one myself grt from belgium
@AudioMobil12 жыл бұрын
If you wana play smartass, do your homework first! In the book Christine is referred as a Fury, but a 4dr with hydramatic (GM) transmission and shifter. Furys were never built that way, even the color was never available from factory. In the movie the word Fury is not mentioned at all and there are no Fury scripts on the car. Christine has some Fury-specific options but was more a Belvedere than a Fury. If I would change some details no one could ever tell the difference but I don't care at all!
@kingstyle73146 жыл бұрын

@AudioMobil Well I can't really say as much for the movie because they used a lot of belvedere's as stunt doubles. But it was specifically specified by Stephen King in the original book that Christine was a Fury. Sooo . . . if we were to be canon it is a Fury.
@kramrollin6913 жыл бұрын
Very Nice...Way Kool !! Apparently 58 Furys were only available in cream with the gold trim. It was John Carpenter/Steven Kings idea to make it red...= evil....
