That was the original radio, I just put an input stage before the amp and fed an mp3 player into it.

Amazing car my friend, i love classic cars but as a student i could only afford a very rusty and simple one, a 1979 Citroën Dyane 6-B convertible, which i bought when i was 17(i'm nearly 19 now)and i love driving it slowly through quiet roads in the country or near the sea with this kind of music! My favourite car is the same you've got, but in my country(Spain)is nearly impossible to get one because they werent sold here, so you have to import them and its expensive...Enjoy your car, its great!

I'm 19 and I love old classic cars but my most favorite ones are the 58 Plymouth Fury (which is what Christine is) and the 1971 AMC Javelin

The thing that I admire most about Christine is her backwards running odometer, which generates a rejuvenating power. When Arnie first got her, he wore glasses. Later, he didn't need his glasses anymore. Christine not only rejuvenated herself, but also Arnie's eyes. I have some iconic dining chairs that I really cherish, they are mate's chairs. Four times a year, I'd like to put the chairs in Christine and make a run down to Columbia and back to rejuvenate them as preventive maintanice.

yes it was. It only lights up when the headlights are on. Very well restored via vintage radio in sale, manchester. The MP3 player input actually goes through the original radio amplifier stage.

I have an MP3 wired into the back of the original radio. It has all the songs from the film on it, plus a lot more. It was just where it was up to at the time. The vid was just an impromptu one take on my phone

If that's a real 1958 Fury, they were all painted Buckskin Beige from the factory. The red is aftermarket.

Gorgeous car!! I just love the Belvederes. I own one that is Canyon Gold with an Iceburg White top. She is a coupe too. I just have to say though, that you need to put the wide white walls on, it just sets it off right. Nice video!!

@Imperialguardftw Depends what yer really after. If you want to do a "Christine" then don't start with a Fury. There are 2door Hard Top Belvederes and Savoys. They're findable and affordable. A real 58 Fury was a rare beast when new (7500 made) and you will pay $75k for a restored one and you wont find a junker. Belevederes and Savoys, in need of restoration can be had for reasonable cash. They come up on ebay and in Hemmings Motors News.

@oldschool619619 There are people and places to get parts from. But its not like restoring a 57 chebby where you could build a new one from repro parts. A lot has to be restored off other cars. Luckily there are still enough around to do it. But some desirable bits cost silly money. Full set of 4 bumper wings might set you back over $1000

In the book Christine was a cock up. He calls her a 58 Fury. Then says she has 4 doors. Then a column shift. Then a 383. None of them correct. If you read up on it. He wrote the middle first. Then the end. Then the beginning. He didn't know what car he was going to use when he wrote the majority of it. He only settle on Fury because the name worked.

Just some quick things you might want to take notice of, christine should have a red steering wheel not black, and the seats of your car are totally different from christine's seats, but other than that, a beautiful car :D
