You did a fantastic job on this! With the white wheels and lighter green paint it is a dead ringer for the one I used as a youngster, which would have been a 1959 model. First machine I had a working familiarity with. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Montgomery wards sold a version of that mower as late as 1984. I bought a new one with an identical deck and a Tecumseh 2 stroke. 18 inch deck. They were blue. $84.

Those Lauson/Tecumseh 2 cycle engines are tough as nails,many years ago Dad took one of those and put it on a magnesium deck to make a brush mower, the carburetor was out to lunch so he put one from a Lawn Boy on it and we mowed a lot of tall weeds and brush with it (as well as a stray copperhead snake I encountered)

You should have put it back original . Red wheels , As close as you can with metallic green paint and leave the engine bare but run it threw the sand blaster . to clean it up . Taking off the flywheel .

I would be proud to cut my grass with that machine!

You did a fine job restoring that mower. It looks like new. Where did you get the decals?

The package I showed is a local decal and clothing store. They were perfect replicas.

You might like to check out rusteloum hammered green and other colors I feel it give working equipment a nice look the silver looks cheap for handles but spray gray paint dusted looks great I use the black hammered paint

Very glad I found your video, I'm getting ready to restore one of these myself. Where did you get that wizard deluxe decal?

I had a picture of the original with the measurements and had a graphic design student reproduce it.

Great video! I have a mower just like this that I recently got to run after a lot of cleaning. I’m still confused on how the throttle works on these. What controls how fast the mower runs?
@MaxAC3 жыл бұрын
it has a governor to control engine speed.

The paint should be a little bit darker
@MaxAC4 жыл бұрын
I agree, the original color was more of a blue green metallic but I could not find a match anywhere. Thanks for the comment.
