All my friends want Lambos or Ferraris or a Bugatti. And I want a Cadillac. They sometimes laugh at me for wanting an "Old man's car", but I'm sorry: back in the day, Cadillacs were the car to own, and the classic ones like this beautiful '59 is one of the greatest.

Wow! This car looks like it's been in a time capsule for many, many years. I'm not positive, but I think I'm right in assuming that this car would be much favored by the judges at a show due to it's not having had a repaint or upholstery. The fact that it's all original except for cleaning would score big points. I've been a fan of mid and late fifties early sixties Caddies for years and have never seen one this nice and sooo original! You may indeed get your price for this relic and survivor.

Yes, I agree, the only '59 that was probably in newer condition was what they called the "death car", where the owner was murdered in the car, it was held as state evidence till it was finally sold a few years back. The footage shows it backing out of the garage as literally a brand new car.Really something to see. The owners last name was Magnon, check it out.

My dad found a central TX barn find 1959 Fleetwood one owner. He bought it around 1981. 29,000 miles.We trailered it to Fort Worth, Dad had air bag suspension removed for springs. (Problematic, even in 1960)Had it painted, now it's been sitting in my younger brother's shop waiting for chrome and interior to be reinstalled.Lazy brother hasn't touched it for 10 years.

I think what I want to convey is that this is likely the nicest in the world and needs to be considered seriously by major collectors. I think the price set reflects this and is the same price as the only comp we found. This car will sell for less, sure, but what is the right price? Thanks for watching and the comment. Be well, Harry

@@JacobSeed_2018 really ?, did'nt know that was an optional delete, I know the Series 62 models were crank, power optional till became standard on 1968 models (renamed Calais in 1965 ) .

Great car, great review. Can I ask u something, I'm from Cape Town South Africa, not much knowledge about these type of cars, but what's the difference between a 1959 Fleetwood as in this video and a 1959 Eldorado?
@ClassicPromenade4 жыл бұрын
They are two different top of the line models offered by Cadillac. The Fleetwood is the top four door luxury model and the Eldorado were the sportier models, such as convertibles, etc.

I have a 100% original 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood in Black. Never touched a thing not even the paint. Only had it for about 20 year. The odometer works it either has over 1 million miles and the odometer turned or it has 11,000 miles. It’s garage kept and in the summer we use it to keep it going and it’s a great ride. If it’s one of the few that are still original please let me know. I also think it’s a 60 special.

I read the article about it a while back, I think it sold for 26K. These Fleetwood sedans dong go for much, luckily cause I want one.
@tibork38458 жыл бұрын
Bradley De Santa Thanks, yes they were the high end sedans for Cadillac. 26 is actually not that high, most restored sedans go between 25-30K and those are not necessarily all original. I have a Series 62 Sedan (6 window).
@JacobSeed_20188 жыл бұрын
Tibor K There is one (59 Fleetwood Sixty Special) on Ebay right now thats in decent shape, the body is in mostly good shape but it looks like someone punched a hole trough the rocket vent on the drivers side, and the interior could use a redo, the company is asking 28K for it, but thats too pricy in my opinion. Its been on there for about 8 months, being reposted every time it runs out. But your right, I've never seen one go 30K though. How's your driving experience with your series 62? When i get one id like to use it regularly but have a backup for days when it has "problems". I live in Florida so snow is no problem.
@tibork38458 жыл бұрын
Yeah, 28 is a bit high but again these were the decked out sedans for Cads and besides the Eldorados one of the lowest productions; only 12,250 were made. My S62 is under restoration, honestly I only drove it a little before deciding on a full resto which is currently under way. In my humble opinion the Sixty Specials are under priced and under appreciated as any Series 62 Sedan can easily go for close prices but don't have near the luxury and rarity. As with most classics the big price jump comes of course with the 2 doors as they easily pull it 40-50Ks. Hope you can get your dream '59, they're real head turners and icons of the era.

Too bad it wasn’t a two door. Four doors are far less desirable or sought after in the collector market and are significantly less in value. However, that being said it is in excellent condition.

12´250 to be exactly. 99 Broughams (I thought it was 100) if you were the lucky choosen (it didn´t matter if you were a millionaire you had to be choosen to buy the 1 of the 99 examples made by Gia). Fleetwood 75 Imperial only 690 and the Fleetwood 75 only 710, Eldorado Seville only 975. That compare to only 7 Imperial xwb Limo and 622 Le Barons in 59. Continental Mark IV limo only 49 and Town Car 78 in 59. I guess most of the customers trusted Standard of the world in 59.

I'd like to correct. It WAS quite possibly the nicest original 59 out there. Why the hell did you paint the valvecovers? What the hell for? Even if it had some flaws, spots, and whatnot. A car is original just once! Being a professional Classic Car Dealers you should know better. It has the original overspray but newly painted engine, so much history gets lost because great seems to be not brilliant enough. Shame shame shame...
