My grandma was a very loyal Cadillac customer. She had a 59 Fleetwood black with gold interior. I was very happy she wasn't to impressed with the. Pagoda style theme, some did why I do not know. She stayed true clean up to 1985 then she jumped ship. They looked like over priced shoe boxes. So she and my grandpa went down to a local Lincoln Mercury dealership and purchased a luxurious Lincoln Town car.

This right here is the embodiment of the American Exceptionalism doctrine. It's equipped with enough chrome to make several tea sets and a pair of tail fins that reach for the sky. While I personally would not like to own it, as my favorite 1959 car is a Studebaker Lark, I'm still glad to see it getting some attention. Best of luck!

I REALLY think this might be one of my favorite things on KZbin...SCRATCH THAT...anything I watch! I love what they do: mess with a car just enough to get it going, bring humor into the mix, but not too 'hammy', bring Got into it, but not 'preachy', plus they do nice work!

Enjoy it. Interesting to see any updates. Love the sound of that starter. These old Cadillacs have more attitude and style than about anything made today. Sad everything today has me too styling, hardly anything made now is distinguished from anything else. Cars made then didn't even have to have badges and you knew what it was just looking at it, maybe hearing it as well. I bet there's a lot of people out there assuming the car is safe would enjoy driving it just like it is.

That was motivating to watch. I bought an identical white sedan back in 1989. Brought it back from the dead and took several Route 66 road trips with it back in the early 1990's (My KZbin channel has a collection of video footage of those trips). I parked the Caddy in the driveway back in 2001 and haven't driven it out since. Haven't started it in over 10 years. It gets a new tarp and cover every year but seeing what you guys did here has inspired me to get her running again. Anthony Reichardt Santa Ana, California '1959 Cadillac on Route 66'

Congratulations on getting that '59 running! IMO, once you get it running and stopping good enough, you really need to at least arrest that rust before it gets any worse. In 1984, I bought a 1960 4 door flattop that I wanted to pal around in on weekends with Tim, my Cadillac loving friend. It was only a little better than that what you have, as far as the body went. But the transmission started grinding in reverse. So I decided to get rid of it. But rather than junk it (it had other mechanical problems as well), I kept lowering the price until I finally found a collector who bought it.

Watching you start her up and her running on her own was just beautiful. Thank you so much for the share.. I actually have a 1979 Eldoroado sitting in my garage that I purchased in 1989. Put a bit over 5k into her. I had the original finish looking like glass but after a yr the pain alegated. I do take her around the block a few times during the summer but ran out of money to restore. Only has 86k miles. Had a 74 Eldo Convertible b4 but had to sell to cover the mortgage.. Love Love Love Everything Cadillac. A year ago my neighbor gave me their 94 Fleetwood was thinking of taking the eng for my 00 GMC Jimmy Diamond Edition but it's not always easy keeping up a house. But the 94 with its LT1 reminds me of Cadillacs from the late 60s to 70 with all that power. Keep me posted with the 59. Thanks again Eddie Long Island, NY.
