A few weeks ago I was in LA and made my way to Norman's rare guitars. I am a totally random guy, one of the many that visit the shop daily. I got in and there was Norman and several of the employees we see in these videos. I spent a few hours admiring some old Fenders and asked to play a 70s tele. The guys set me up in one of those couches, and I played for a while. As I was leaving, I wanted to get at least a souvenir from the shop, so I picked up a T-shirt. Turns out my Uber driver was a fast guy and got there before I could pay. As I was putting the T-shirt back on the shelf, one of the guys (can't remember his name, but he's on several videos) told me "just take it." It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot to me. Thank you!! Now, I was born in 1977, when I turn 50 I will buy a '77 Fender, and Norman's will be the first place I will call ;)

Whoever set up the tremolo on this Stratocaster absolutely nailed it! Staying perfectly in tune throughout all that is incredible. I have a 62 and I cannot get it to stay in tune like that. And believe me I’ve tried all the tricks and tips and even had it at professional shops. Since I don’t use a trem very much anyway I just live with it how it is. But I would use it a lot more & experiment with it if it stayed in tune- especially for lighter warbling effects. Bravo to Normans set up guy

I imagine you have already tried this, and if you have a '62 you probably don't want to modify it, but that being said, I might have a solution for you. If you replace the nut with one made from graphite it should prevent the strings from getting hung up. And if you add a set of locking tuners your troubles should be over. At least that worked for me.

I tell ya. I bet money its the saddles. If they have grooves, which i bet they do, trem will throw it out of tune big time.

There is just something special about those slab boards..I had a Japanese 63 reissue and it had a slab board and was just a wonderful instrument...I let it get away and I'm still kicking myself to this day....

A friend of mine has this very same guitar 🎸 same burst ,neck everything it's a beaut..for sure and it's not going to last there very long on the racks for sure.Lemmo does that guitar justice with Hendrix great tones on that Strat..the one reason that Hendrix was a die hard for that model.Too bad they got destroyed...but that's the way it goes.Thank you for this post Jen and Michael..keep up the great work.

@@jeremydrissi I tried a custom shop at Guitar Center. I liked it so much I copied most of it when I placed my custom shop order. I changed the color, frett size, and pick ups. I’ve tried other custom shops and other years but didn’t enjoy those as much as the one I purchased. It’s amazing! I prefer the slightly bigger neck and lower output on the pick ups for clarity.
