It goes without saying, the 500 is a true icon of post-WW2 mass market motoring. I had a 126, and that was quirky enough. The Mini also came out in 1959. While on paper at least, the new Mini would have been a better option, price wise at the time of release, I wonder how it compared to the baby Fiat?

I remember a few years ago seeing one in Carlisle where I live outside a cafe near my work, LHD and with Spanish plates on it! Quite a road trip.

Personally I can't see the point of the 500! Do people realise it came out after the SIX hundred? So why , if the engine is already SMALL - why on earth dring another car out, with an engine that's even smaller? And with a crummy TWO cylinder la yout - instead of 4
