Beautiful! I just got a series II based on your videos. Your descriptions on how to remove the case and carriage helped out greatly! I was wondering where you go for your new rubber? I would love to the the platen on mine done. The feet on mine are in seriously bad condition so I casted new ones using smooth-on mold max 30 for the mold and a shore hardness 70A rubber (about road tire hardness) for the new feet. Worked out nicely! Did not think about replacing the typewriter bumper rubber! I am going to do that tonight!

I have the 1959 version of this typewriter and I can't seem to find this ribbon with reverse grommets in them. Any seller you can recommend? Also, will universal ribbon fit?

I am wondering the same thing!! I have been advised to not buy from an antique dealer or the like, only from someone has demonstrated their restoration abilities. But totally upwards of $500 to 1200. It was mentioned in another video from 2014 that you could get one around $100 bucks! That’s quite a bit of inflation in a short period of time. I’d love to know where to purchase one more affordably!

So I have a couple of these, both from 1959, both with that same case design - one I scored for $5 (!) because the people running the estate sale that had it, couldn't open the case and figure out what it was or if it worked. I bought it, removed the bottom panel and got the machine out, and it's functional - but, is there any conventional wisdom to follow about not getting the case jammed again? I am reluctant to keep mine in the case for that reason.

Hello , I have a question. I have difficulties with inserting the paper in my typewriter. I can't find a real solution online. It's a hit and miss with inserting the paper, mostly miss. It's like the paper doesn't stick to the cylinder when I rotate it Thanks in advance.

@@melodi22 metal, beyond question. the plastic bodied iteration of the H3k was a woefully inferior critter when compared to its predecessors

@@TypewriterJustice Hmm..And what would you say about the feel of its keys, as in like a manual non portable typewriter is it too hard or you have to press the keys with a lot of force to get the page typed, or is it just like spongy or you just have to run ur fingers thru it and ur done?

I.F. Haddock - i use silicone tubing for them, readily available at most hardware stores....just cut it to fit and slip them on :)
