I can type well over 100 wpm, that is a nice typewriter, however I prefer the Smith Corona as the carriage return is closer to the the keyboard, also I find that I don't need red ink and so I rather have it all black which is useful when the ink is low, and so you just switch, and now you have more black ink with out having to ink it some more. Also as I type well over 100 wpm I find that I really don't feel the need to use an electric typewriter, if I was going to do that I might as well turn on a computer and wait for the power to go out in California while I am in the middle of working, which is a continuous as PG&E has gone bankrupt. An other thing I just though of is... it is probably cheaper to reink your ribbon then it is to buy ink for a printer, and it is probably even cheaper to get an old typewriter fixed then it is to get a printer fixed or replaced lol, even in this day and age. That was a pretty quiet typewriter the ones I used were louder, and usually older then that.

Imagine at this years E3, during a conference, a random guy strolls up to the stage with a typewriter on a cart and asks around for an Ink Ribbon. He goes about reloading it and then types on the paper: Resident Evil 2 Remake queuing the save room music...

That’s what typing do s for you. You type a boo boo (error), and you have to find an alternate phrase that uses that boo boo so you don’t have to correct there. To do that you really gotta have vocabulary.

What I do when changing the ribbon of my typewriter is have a wet wipe handy and when I'm done wipe the ink off my fingers. Hand sanitizer works just as well. That way you avoid getting fingerprints over everything.

Erm... when I change my ribbon I wear gloves (because of the messy ink), and gently SLIDE the lid (cause that’s how it’s properly done) if you want to keep your typewriter in good shape for years to come.
