Absolutely. Can’t wait to get it into the car…it would be nice if that happened this year, but much will depend on my work schedule/travel.

I bought a 80,000BTU heater for my garage, I put it in the engine bay, since I have only the body in my garage. I really have not done much work out there either. I am technically "retired" but have been very busy with side jobs and inside the house projects. I have about 3 weeks left before I go away and enjoy South America until April. I will be watching your videos from there. @@cheftush

@@jimconklin8040 have a great TRip Jim! Yeah, I have a “jet” kerosene heater if I really get the urge to be out there, but I’m sure I can find other indoor projects I can do to move the project further along.

Wow, that was a fast reply! I want to see progress on your vehicle, so I might get my ass in gear to work on mine. My next big job is to replace the rear valance with one I picked up in October 2022, almost no rust. My TR had about a quart of Bondo hiding under the rear bumper. My garage is not very big and as of now, the rear of the body is right by the garage door. @@cheftush

Cool stuff! I'm repairing an El Camino headliner for a customer now.

I’m glad I only have convertibles 😉 headliners look like a pain to install.

This one is a custom made on foam board that the foam has rotted letting the headliner sag. I'm removing the old foam and regluing the cloth. Fun Fun! lol

To be honest, I don’t really enjoy doing upholstery work….i think I’d rather be working on something mechanical…but, in the end, I think it turned out pretty well and I’m happy that I was able to do it myself. Cheers, Tush

Use a heat gun to tighten up the vinyl. It works well. As a matter of course you should always start in the middle and work the corners next then the rest. It will help get tension across the panel more uniformly. My grandma was an upholsterer

I’ll try a steamer once I get ready to put it back in the car. Yeah, I’m not an upholsterer, just trying to figure it out…I was using the seams and piping on the sides of the panel to dictate how much I needed to stretch or from side to side then worked it north and south.

We sure have to be careful knowing what we’ve got don’t we? Makes a huge difference when order parts…like a carpet kit for example 😉 are your door bottoms square or rounded on the corners? Just curious.
@johnmoruzzi7236
@johnmoruzzi7236 6 ай бұрын
Yes that was something you kinda skipped in the commentary... a recap on which kit you had ordered and who from, etc. Great to have finished this phase of the restoration, hopefully the simple (?) 59 TR3A makes good progress this year, but remember to get out and use the cars that are already done !@@cheftush

That looks pretty smart Dave, yes the cover seemed overly long but was that maybe because it is made to fit both the early and later 3A’s - (with the differential hump) ?
