Starting working on the seats of my 1959 Triumph TR3A. The first step is deconstruction to see what we have to work with....In this video, we do a step by step deconstruction of the Drivers seat.

I love Chef’s “teacher yourself” videos, he always manages to cover the subject fully, without a lot of useless padding, all in one sitting..😁

Enjoy your videos as usual. I was intrigued to notice "Still Game" on your TV in your previous videos.

Yay! A Tush TR3 video to start the morning. Those seat frames are awesome. Wish I could find some as nice. Keep the camera rolling, Tush. I need to get a TR3 fix somehow, lol. Les? Surprise, surprise. He's alive.

Frames are in great shape! Lucky, there. And some WKRP in Cincinnati! Loved that show when I was a kid (and still, I guess).

Yes, got lucky with the frames…they don’t make shows like they used to!

Brilliant as always. What I truly appreciate Tush is that you help make the process feel uncomplicated, for those of us that "Over Think" it is a huge help!

Well, as you know, I’m only playing with the “fun stuff” now…I’ll be back on the long slog of body and paint when it warms up a bit in the garage…

Those seat frames explain where the term “bucket seat” could have come from. They cut those out of a 45gal barrel. Lol. What a great project Chef and I’m always amazed at how much insight you gather before and during these tasks. You are not only talented at completely these adventures but also a remarkable researcher as well. This is one of the reasons your videos are so valuable. Can’t wait to see the final product. 👍

That seat frame Definitely looks to be in great shape. Having two covers for who nows how many years may have helped save the metal work. I'm not so sure it would make them any more comfortable however. Thanks for the update, looking forward to part 2 and so on..

More excellent work, Dave, making a challenging job look easy👍 Just out of interest, I am guessing the most original covers were leather?
@cheftush
@cheftush 7 ай бұрын
I think most original covers were vinyl as leather was an option.

thanks Chef for another very useful video for those of us who are facing a similar job. But when you work in the living room, people notice other things like 'what's on the TV ?' I noticed the wood burning stove in the fireplace and could see ashes but no fire nor wood. Do you use it ? My first job every morning in now frigid Manitoba is to fire up a similar stove in our kitchen and drink coffee #1 with the heat coming through the glass door warming my face.

Hi John, yes I use the fireplace. I have a wood bin just outside my front door. Love a nice, real fire on a cold day.

Hi Tush: My TR3A seats had also been recovered before I redid them. Like yours, a new cover had been put over the original. Did you look into any alternatives to the springs for the seat bottoms? I find that mine are pretty uncomfortable after an hour or two of driving and would be interested in finding something else.
@cheftush
@cheftush 7 ай бұрын
I know you can go with a straight foam base instead of the Springs…I think Too Tall on eBay used to sell kits using all foam. Cheers, Tush
