Holy smokes ... Now thats an incredable example of one mans talent to restore such a dif and a little odd looking ...lol i love the EL CAMINO its always been a fave of mine ... I just always thought the first year they made it ...that it seemed odd how they designed the back window and ledge lol ..i had a 1961 biscayne that had almost that same back window and weird window ledge ....dont get me wrong that EL CAMINO is super sexy ...and a fine example of restore ...thanks Lou for the linc ...this is why i love this channel ....light and love ...

A shade over 14,000 units were made. I've always wanted one, It's my birth year, but have never found one without serious rust! Buying one already finished is kinda expensive, and I've wanted to restore it myself anyway, so thanks for the inspiration and that's a very nice ride.

I can’t remember the last time I saw one of these! I owned a 1960 Biscayne when I was in high school. It was a one owner low mileage car and cost me $600 back then! For a resto rod this is very nice! You got caught having way too much fun again, but that’s OK, because you cause thousands of us to have fun too!! And with many activities on hold, guys like you are super important!! Thanks so much, Lou.

What an outstanding restoration on this '60 El Camino. I think the '59 and '60's were the best looking of all and this one nails it with blue-silver paint, ermine white roof, and my favorite - dog dish style hub caps. I would likely not have done anything different in restoring this beauty including addition of LS engine. So unique and beautiful. Well done guys and thanks.

Very nice , tastefully done. LS engine makes it so reliable and a perfect driver. That El Camino was born Sunstan Copper Poly paint, code 920A. His choice however is also period correct and looks sharp. It's always amazing to see, which this looked only to be a shell without a nose ect , brought back to this result. That is a lot of time money and effort to cross over the finish line. Thanks Lou and to the proud owner, well done.

This is really great. When I was 6 or 7. my best friend who was 4 years older than me built a model of a '59 EC which he did a meticulous job on, spray painting the body, you guessed it, metallic blue :). Man, I think that was the only '59 OR '60 I ever saw so this is special.

The mid-late 60's Ford Rancheros are station wagon based, also. Probably other years, too, but mine are '69's and that's the only version I can verify. Perch-to-perch housing spacing is three inches narrower on the Wagon/Ranchero than the Fairlane/Torino, and carry 5-leaf springs instead of four. Legally classified as 1/2-ton light trucks, same as F100. Very nice Camino there!

Beautiful car, nice build Bill. I love the dash. Thanks for the ride Lou and Bill. Very neat talking to the ladies and guys. My first car was a black 1959 El Camino that I bought in 1964 at 17 years old. It looked real good, but the drive system was a mechanical piece of junk. I sold it a year later.

Nice car/truck! That’s what I called el caminos and rancheros when I was a little kid, along time ago, back when a car of this year was new or maybe just a couple of years old. The owner did a really nice job keeping the original look and not doing a bunch of customizing bodywork to it.

Very nicely done, even with the tiny motor, although, it only came with a 283 anyway, about 4.65 liters, so, all good.

This one never had a 283 in it from the factory , there are no V8 emblems on it . This had the 235 inline 6 cylinder engine .

@@midnightgambler3718 there were never any number call outs, however the grill emblem spoke volumes . Just the badge meant it had a six cylinder , the badge with a Vee meant it was 283 equipped , the Vee with crossed flags came with a 348 . 1961 was the same as 1960 . '62s had 409 numerals to go with the V8 badge .

@@loucostabile No offense meant. I didn't mean that as a dig at the owner. Just a dig at Chevy. Unused space needs a toolbox. Didn't Ford have a pickup with an underbed tool box behind the cab? I remember seeing that somewhere.
