Man Wayne, love what you've created. A great synopsis. I am totally in awe of your capabilities - everything from how professionally you widened the steps, and your clever locking of the front and back bed compartments. Sooooo well done. Looking forward to the Mustang project.

I'm only a couple of weeks from doing my first mock up with my 60 and crown vic chassis. Glad to see your truck again so I can continue to be inspired.

Thanks for the update and review, it looks like such a fun truck. And good luck with the new project. My neck hurts from thinking about fitting that dash and interior into the other car 😅

Thank you very much! You're right, getting at all the bolts, clips and connectors to remove and install will literally be a pain in the neck! I'm contemplating training my 3 year grandson so he can get under there and disconnect stuff😊

loved the truck build. I'm planning a 1963 GMC swap to do with my 11 y/o son. We are considering the Tahoe/Yukon swap, or even a 2012ish caprice. Trying to keep with the GM family on this one. Would love the early or late 50's Ford on a Vic though. Maybe next...

I built a vehicle with my daughter when she was a little older than your son. It was such a great bonding exercise for both of us. I think it's great that you're doing the same. I think you're smart staying in the gm family for your 63 and there is a lot more aftermarket support for GM drivetrains, especially the ls engine. It should be a great project. Hope you enjoy the build.

Hi Wayne, I really enjoyed reviewing your work on the old F-100 I've been trying to purchase a completed project recently and haven't come up with anything decent like what you build. Would you consider building another one?

@@calwarkentin9109 Hi Cal, actually I'm just in the process of looking for a project for this winter. I might consider building another one. Please send me an email at janzen.wayne@gmail.com and we can discuss more there.

Hey Wayne, I am in BC too. Did you register the truck as a truck or a crown vic? You sounded concerned about registration and an inspection in one of the videos. Something about bolting the frame to the body and not welding it. Cant you just register it as a 1960 ford ruck without an inspection?
@waynejanzen9346

The truck I started with did not have a valid bc registration. If it did, registering would have been easy. Since it didn't, and was modified, it needed both a mechanical and body inspection. I talked to the body inspector prior to the build and he advised me that he wouldn't pass it if I had welded anything to the crown Vic frame. I have since learned that other inspectors might allow some welding. Anyway I was able to make it work without welding the frame. If you are considering a similar project I would suggest looking for a vehicle with a valid bc registration. You should be able to register it, even after a swap like this without an inspection. If you don't have a valid registration, talk to whoever is going to do the body inspection and find out what you can and cannot do before you start the build. Good luck on your project!

@@waynejanzen9346 Thanks Wayne, That's kinda what I thought, but wanted to double check. You know how messed up ICBC is ! The only thing that really mixes me up is what to keep on the dash and firewall, air cond, wipers, etc. There are literally dozens of combinations you could do. I have watched quite a few videos on the subject. Are you in the interior?

@@Razzmech-px3githe 57 to 60's have a narrower cab than later f100's. I think it would be difficult to use the Vic firewall on them and keep the AC. On mine I had to modify the evaporator box extensively to make keep the AC. From what I've seen the vic firewall fits pretty good on later models. Yes, I'm in the central Kootenays. Where are you?

@@waynejanzen9346 It looks like the a/c should squeeze in on a 1966 ford, but usually they have trouble up top and sides of dash. Crown vic dash is narrower, but I think I can just fill it in on both sides with metal and form it together somehow. I'm in Vancouver

@@Razzmech-px3gi with a 66 you've got good options either way. Personally I prefer keeping the truck dash, but that's just my opinion.

My bed floor was rusted pretty bad so it was an easy decision using the Vic floor. It was a bit of a challenge welding the Vic floor to the truck bed, but I'm glad I did it this way too. It really is handy having the extra storage room under the bed cover. Thanks for watching Terry!

Put a coyote in the f100.

Yes, I did seriously consider putting the coyote in the F100, and suspect someday I will. Right now the 4.6 is working so well I'm reluctant to pull it out. If it does develop issues though, I'll be looking for a coyote for it too. Thanks for watching!
