This car is an important car. One of the rare survivors, chassis number 0007, the car Phil Hill drove at Monza fro the 1960 Italian GP, he won the race in this car.

Extremely impressive. I love when a driver is so good with shifts that when approaching a corner at the top of revs, rather than being lazy and just hanging on to the gear, you get to hear an upshift, a brief acceleration, then a nice quick downshift (1:41). Glorious machine and fantastic driving!!

+FormulaKimball Very true! Means he's not holding back that Ferrari in the slightest bit. Thanks for your comment! Glad to year you enjoyed the vid :)

Now that's a real F1 car, nowadays F1 lacks a lot compared to what the monsters of the past have that makes me love them.

No one should forget this: this V6 is the child of Ferrari's charismatic (and tragically dead) son!! Glad to listen to this engine and see it running well! Ah, the melodies!!!!

Holy christ, what a hell of a sound...It´s not easy to drive such a car with that speed. Thanks for uploading.
@Retroschaft9 жыл бұрын
+Peter Pretorius A mighty sound indeed! I wonder what it's like to drive a car like this, I really do! Maybe it's kind of fun as well because there isn't too much power but they grip isn't too good either so maybe you can throw it around a bit and have a lot of fun! On the other hand, I guess you have to be kind of strong to keep this car under control for 30 minutes straight!
@PeterPretorius-9 жыл бұрын
+HistoricRacingHD Strongly spupport your opinion. You need a lot of strength in your arms and a lot of experience as well. Tony is not only an excellent music manager. He is a very expierenced race car driver as well.

i think there should be a historic racing season for these cars. historic f1 is mostly the cars from the 70's 80's and some from the mid 60's, i think there should be a racing series dedicated to cars pre 1960 and then pre 1966 for those mid engine cars of the early 60's. and have them do all of the historic tracks like spa, the old monaco circuit nurburgring etc...
@Retroschaft9 жыл бұрын
+Adam Othman There actually is a Historic Racing Season for cars like this! It's called the Historic Grand Prix Association and in it are all F1 cars from the 60s! I don't know on which circuits they race but I do know they go to Spa, Zandvoort, Goodwood and Nüburgring!
@adam1othman9 жыл бұрын
***** yeah isn't that the association is the video above? and isn't that event spa 6 hours? thats not really what i had in mind if so.
@Retroschaft9 жыл бұрын
+Adam Othman Oh well in that case I don't entirely understand what you meant. They do work with points and it kind of is a full season with qualy and races and everything :)

The 1966-68 Tasman T-246s and the F-2 166 Dinos had almost 10 years of development... SOME were three valve like the sainted 330P4...and were 120 degree engines... Poor Banders might be alive today, IF the Old Man had not insisted on the T-312s at Monaco. He really WAS his own worst enemy..... Surtees notwithstanding...
