Great film Loved it Sam Hanks was One of the great men who’s association with Indianapolis Motor Speedway helped make it the greatest speedway in the world and The 500 Mile Race the greatest race in the world I only wish it was Tom Carnegie’s voice doing the PA in the race scenes

Racing down the front straight of paving bricks jarring your teeth loose. You better bet you need some good shocks. That's Jimmy Bryan @4:34 hiking the left front in his Champ Dirt Car. Jimmy was a master on the dirt mile tracks and his driving style had the car setup much like it looks in that shot. Drivers of that era were muscle men to be able to take that kind of pounding for 500 miles and 4+ hours.
