I used to have one of those larger old Japan Hobos. In fact, it was likely my first knife ever. I remember using it as a youngster when my brothers who were 15 and 16 years older than me moved out, they left it behind. It was their boy scout knife or so they said. I see them sometimes at flea markets for between 5 - 10 dollars. Thanks for the trip back to memory lane :)

For a long time, after a blade, the most important tool on any Swiss Army style Knife was a corkscrew, so I see why it’s there, even if it probably isn’t very practical. Of course screw top wine has slightly negated that need. A cool little knife though.

If that isn't something there to see. Had no idea those little knives went into such detail. Also enjoyed the modern equivalent you showed that even though little still have a lot of practicality. Yet another great video Tobias!

I'm a little surprised. At first glance I thought the scissors would be virtually useless, but it looks like they'll actually do in a pinch. Probably even better when it was new.

That mini camp knife is pretty cool, but the Night Manager really surprised me. It looks quite handy!

The Midnight Manager is an excellent little tool for the key chain. Very handy!

Another very cool mini (knife du jour) of a well known pattern. Gotta like those clip point blades on camp knives. Reminds me of the Wenger knives or the old Swiss Buck knives made by Wenger, with their large and small clip point blades.

I have the full-size knife pictured in the foreground. I'm told my Dad carried it in Korea while serving with Army G-2. Needs some love but I'll never part with it!

WOW They are small! I had one of those larger ones with fork and spoon in the 60's. I didn't like the steel on it even then

Sweet tiny camp knife. Good for an old pocket knife.

Interesting little knife. Decent build quality. If I were stuck out in the woods with only that knife, my cussing wouldn't be mini. Sometimes they make them too small. Gutting minnows 😂😅🤣

Some very good looking & practical knives. Why doesnt the mini Boy Scut knives have a Boy Scout logo. ???
@KnifeChatswithTobias4 жыл бұрын
If it doesn't have a Boy Scout logo, it most likely is not an official boy scout knife.

It has the charm of Flintstones. Compared to a mini Victorinox, it looks like a caveman. :-) in a good way. I would have worn it on my neck.

Tobias what is the small blade that only opens to 90 degrees on the large Hobo knife for?
@KnifeChatswithTobias7 ай бұрын
If it is what I think you're talking about (next to the file on the back), it is supposed to be used for drilling holes in wood or leather. Unfortunately it is poorly made and lacks a proper edge.

Hey Tobias, where do you buy your hunting scene, equal end pen knives. I’ve been looking around for them for a while but can’t really find any. Are they all old collectibles or are there still options on the market
@kennyg831 Жыл бұрын
But how much is the mini worth? I can't find it online
@KnifeChatswithTobias7 ай бұрын
They are hard to find. (The mini Japanese Hobo Knives) They seem to go for around $15-$25 when they show up on ebay. I really wouldn't go much higher than that , regardless of condition. But some people ask ridiculous prices for them.
