I remember the big paddling pool, everywhere looks nice and clean and well cared for by everyone

I can remember that little roundabout, the swing boats and there was a mat slide - made out of wood - you slid down it - there was a bump halfway down - it was actual sand back then - not all that sea coal and bladder wrack that you see today - the mat slide cost 1d a pop - then we went decimal and the price doubled - it became 1p!

Great video to watch on how Redcar was.

Just as I remember it as a boy, we were a more cohesive community back then. Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone remember the arcade and shows with the cars on the track and a ghost train ? That was going back maybe 55 years ago. There were boats paddled by our feet.

Hi it became arcade indoor skate park and has only just closed. It was strange taking my lads back into the same building i went in in the 60.s.

1.29 The crossroads on Longbeck Lane, driven that road to Redcar hundreds of times in the 70s/80s, Redcar itself in the distance. The 2 fields in the foreground are now houses ( Errington Park Estate in New Marske :) built by Cyril Payne & Sons. 4.45 Redcar High Street as I knew it the 60s/70s, not to keen on the modern Redcar of today 2024.
