Your current polisher is fine. You need a new start capacitor. If you change 1 out, change both so you don't have to later.

The military was still using these in Germany in 1980/81. We got repair parts for them to keep them functional. They were heavy and bulky, but they did light well. I seem to remember the ones we had also came with red lens/lens covers for night operations. Nicely done, sir.

I love how meticulous and careful you are in what you do. I've watched some other restoration videos and they're either very heavy handed or just lazy. like with the contacts assembly, the fact that you took the whole thing apart to clean/restore it, on other channels they would have just left it together. I'm always very impressed by your work.

For a metal polishing grinder, I used a belt-driven mandrel powered by a motor mounted to the bench. You can change rpm of the motor and the mandrel allows you to get all around parts without interference from a motor casing. Worked well for me.

I know sandblasting very well. I have done this with sand and glaspearls. You don't need a new grinder. It looks like there are a 3-phase motor putted to a 1-phase cable. If the L-wire on L1 and the neutral wire on L3, then you need a bipolar capacitor between L2 an L3. Capacity about 70 Microfarad. Then your grinder should run well. Btw: I am from germany, have the license to be a foreman and I'm working in a factory, who overhauling and retrofitting old grinding machines. I like your videos and waiting for new projects. Have a good time.
