This is absolutely amazing! I’m 30 years old and would love to play with that truck! Quick question to anyone who knows: Does a restoration affect the value of the product in a good way, bad way, or in no way at all?
@Blackice929

It depends on the product and the damage and also how close the restoration keeps the template of the original design.

@Blackice929 restore rescue's restorations all fit the same template, but sometimes the original color pallet is changed for a new one. Despite this, I think they'd all sell for a high price.

My dad gave me this Tonka tow truck for Christmas in the early sixties. I played with it for years and when I stopped playing with it I placed it in my toy box, in the basement, and forgot about it. It sat in there in for 20+ years until I thought I would look inside the box. I thought about throwing it away, as I did with so many other things but thought better of it. I placed it on top of my bookcase, in my office where it has sat since. I am now in my 60s and as I work at my desk I look up from time-to-time at it sitting there and think of times past.

I have to say I have never just sat and watched someone clean something with such delicacy and methodically as you do. I love the fact you restore old metal toys. Watching the construction vehicle ones brought a lot of memories of my childhood back. I had all of the constructions ones, the large metal earth movers. Awesome toys that you always make look better than brand new. These are such collectibles now. Would make for some awesome display pieces. Love the work you do and look forward to watching more.

Watching your restorations is one of the most sublime experiences On KZbin! I hope you get lots of funding for your projects. This makes me wish i had kept the Tonka trucks I had in the late 60’s . You really are one of the top restorers on KZbin! Not only do you do a fantastic job but your videos are top notch and you have a cute sense of humor that comes through without you saying a word. Blessings to you and your wife and may you have many years of happy restoring. Most importantly you are keeping the landfills clear by bringing to life the usefulness of products left to rot. R & R: One of the things that makes your channel my favourite of those that show restorations is that you highlight the restoration of toys. At 57 years, I still love toys. There is a timelessness about them that no tool has. The restoration of a vice grip? I lose interest. But restore a Tanka Truck, I'm there! Keep it up!!

I love these videos. I used to have several Tonka trucks/machines when I was younger. They were made of metal, just like this one. Now they're made of plastic and I'm almost brought to tears seeing these great toys bastardized like that.

I imagine you get a lot of satisfaction from what you do. The toys I grew up with are much like what you restore. No plastics, but honest metals. My Dad used to tell me that anything could be restored, as long as it was metal. I just subbed your channel today after watching several of your videos. You do amazing work. J in Oregon

Amazing job, but for me - I prefer the truck the way it was before restoration. To me it had more life, more soul and it was a piece of art in it's own way.
