1961 Chevy C10 Apache - The Beginning

We are starting to redo my great grandpa's 1961 Chevy C10 Apache. Plan is to paint the frame, swap the engine, and get it rolling down the road. Maybe some of what I have learned on the '51 will help.

I think at first we are going to put a 283 from a '66 in it, upgrade the brakes and make the interior decent. He really wants to lower it. It's only time and money right? We have a low supply of each.

I would love it as a short bed. That x frame looks complicated to cut down and spread but hopefully he makes it look easy. I'll watch it and show it to my son. Thank you.
