Will this 1948 Ford truck with a flathead V-8 run after setting with the hood open for over 56 years this truck has been sitting in the same field for over 30 years at some point in its life. The frame was cut in half and shortened around 5 feet and the truck has not been on the road since the frame was cut I believe the truck was parked due to a bad rear main seal.
Will it run
Will it run after 30 years
Will it run after 81 years
Will it run after 58 years
Will it run after 50 years
Will it run after 78 years
Will it run after 60 years

Didn't realize how bad I needed this today. In a world where things seem more and more impossible to fix; Dustin shows us what real perseverance looks like. Doesn't matter if its locked up, missing parts or been snuffed out...the man will not stop until its alive again. That's making the impossible; possible. Great life lessons here. This man is a national treasure.

Dustin's just a nice young man with an amazingly pleasant demeanor who entertains us all with his ingenuity, perseverance, and knowledge in getting old engines to run--no matter how long they've set accumullating rust and rats. And then someone comes along who dumps flour all over his project whether through stupidity, jealousy, mean-spiritedness, or just having more than a few loose screws. God bless you Dustin for just moving on and not letting it get to you. We respect you for it, and you make the world a better place for being in it. They don't!

@ditherdather
@ditherdather Ай бұрын
@@Robbie-sk6vc Very true. The average 4 cyclinder today puts out more power than most of the 8 cyclinders back then. When I say "back in the day", I'm in no way suggesting they were better by any metric, other than they were arguably more simple. Anyone who was mechanically inclined could probably service one, whereas todays engines are far more complex and nuanced.

Two things which come to mind, the first is you mention how one of your cans looks like it will explode and in the next frame you have one sat right on top of a hot engine. The other is, the flour which was dumped on the engine, is most likely someone fed up of the burning smoke and sound. If they have breathing issues, the smoke could be causing serious harm.
