I know of three brothers killed when a drunk driver slammed into their Saturn after speeding to overtake a car and then overcorrecting. One day an 18 year old co-worker was there, the next day he was not. It left a dramatic impression on me. The offending driver was sentenced to a number of years and was either released or paroled after 5. Within 30 days he was arrested in a gas station parking lot, behind the wheel of a car, drunk. Sad. To this day I remember him and his brothers. My son is named after him. He's driving now. I can give him the best advice and share my experience but I cannot protect him from others. Please, don't drink and drive. The hole you leave in somebody else's life is a void that is never filled. In this world its an eternal absence.

Really good message. Today, I feel as though government looks at DUI as a cash cow. If not, bars would not be over serving customers. Gotts love the cars back then, even though you're more likely to survive a crash in today's cars.

I’m glad for you and your life change. I know it must be terribly difficult to stop drinking when you are addicted. Your courage to admit a problem and then make meaningful changes takes a huge effort and must be painful. I’m just an old grandma but I am proud of you and your efforts.
