Nice job. You have demonstrated a good example of sticking to a problem and solving it.

John, Oh man, I’m so happy for you ...really I am! I’ve encountered that very problem twice in the past. Unlike you, feeling a weight lifted from your shoulders, I was annoyed with myself for overlooking the problem as long as I did LOL! If a few of us were there with you, we, along with yourself might have spotted the sod a little sooner. A word to the wise my friend, I strongly advise you to obtain clips, or construct a clamp to secure that Jones plug into its socket. The weight of the attached wire loom, and vibration from the audio will gradually work it loose, and could eventually splay the horse shoe connectors inside the Jones socket so they make poor contact. Just another consideration my friend. Cheers deer chap, looking forward to your next juke video. Phil.

I actually did not mind watching it go back and forth. Garden is looking good. Holy smokes the juke has gotten much louder with the tube removal. I will be darned, lol it stared working. Fantastic!!! Best victory to date on the juke. I think it sounds better with the AVC tubes out.

Hi John great job john these jukeboxes have so many adjustments that sometimes you need to walk away like you do and keep checking connections congratulation on a superb job. Phil

John, I'd put my money on that plug not making a good contact for whatever reason. It does my heart good to see it up and running properly again. What I'm starting to learn is that good, clean contacts on old electronics are half the battle to getting something up and running again. Regards, Tom

You might also re-solder all the pins on the two tormat connectors. Perhaps a pin is getting a bad connection inside the connector plug. I also read that there are some websites that still sell 45RPM records for Jukeboxes if some day you want to fill it up, in case you don't have a lot of records. Some of them are brand new. I googled 45 RPM jukebox in Google and there are many companies to choose from. Even with the AVC problems, that Jukebox seems to have a nice sounding amplifier. Sounds a little retro because it is a tube amp, but considering the fact that many songs were first released on records when tubes amps were common, I bet it sounded great for its time. For some interesting History: The Tormat system was one of the first digital memory systems. This was based on the early IBM magnetic core computer memory system used in very early computers like the MIT Whirlwind I. Magnetic Core memory was a technology that was originally developed for the military at the time it was invented. Seeburg was one of the first companies to use electronic memory in application outside of the military. For them to use it in a Jukebox at the time was really impressive. Previous jukeboxes had lever memory mechanical based systems, and many had a small number of selections. Building a 100 selection jukebox that played both sides of records, using electronic memory was quite an engineering marvel in the late 1950s.

how are you going with this just one thing to bear in mind also as part of that adjustment, is that really playing the a and b side at the ends of the rack, had a similar problems before till i realise it,s playing the b side at the end and i thought it was the a side [if you know what i mean], the flip switch underneath is also a part of the adjustment and if it flips over too ealy it won,t pick it up, flipper action needs to be fairly positive also need to make sure good contact and no sparking there, also be carefull there, thats full voltage, cheers

Since you have so many records I would load all the slots and go thru every selection before installing the parts back in. Now doesn't that sound like fun??

Have you tried to reach back there and set A1 as a selection without using the selection buttons.
@starcarrier18746 жыл бұрын
Could have been the receptacle socket too. With a hundred little pins in those connector blocks I'm surprised that was the only contact issue. Great resolution. Never, never give in! See it really wasn't the Russians.
@mathewbailey67186 жыл бұрын
All I know is this & listen to me,please. I think the wiring wrapped around the toroid inside the tormat memory unit for A1 is bad or become disconnected. I believe you need to open the memory unit,loosen or remove any boards inside & inspect the wiring inside that is wrapped around the toroids. The wires should look like thin bare but actually lacquer coated wires soldered somewhere inside the memory unit. If i's not those little wires,do a visual inspection & meter check inside the memory unit. As a last resort,you might have to get a replacement tormat memory unit.

It's impossible to play A11 or B17 on his Seeburg. On a 100 selection Seeburg like this one the letter range is ABCDEFGHJKK and the number range is 1234567890. Press one letter and number button to make a selection
@billrenfro97986 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. Can't play B24 either. Those are all in songs about jukeboxes. Well not about jukeboxes, but songs about lost love. :)
