It is better now, but still bears the scars of the hinge pin removal. I did the best repair I could within reason, and can reinstall doors and mirrors tomorrow…. Ugh

I used stock pins and they worked great - still a tight fit. I wish I had taken care of the pins before painting the doors and installing them - I didn’t realize how close the pin removal tool has to get to the body, AND I didn’t realize that penetrating oil completely dissolves paint! Good luck on your project!

@LarsonSplitBus- Thanks! As well as the tip about penetrating oil which I assume is PB Blaster etc. Have been hitting it with lots of wd40 which I don't think is as harmful and trying to keep it off the actual door. Looking forward to more of your videos..

I also bought mirrors, but no one has been able to fit them due to this hinge pin issue. Afraid something will break or get damaged. but this beetle hasn't been resprayed yet.

Yeah - get one of these pin removal tools and use a ratchet wrench on it

Well not down you on your work! But why didn’t you take the pins off before doing the work on the doors? Maybe that would have saved you all that headache! But anyways! Great job though! Looking good!👌😎👍
