You're work on your '62 has given me so tips on work for my '60 Dexta down in Australia. Looking forward to how you run the wiring for the tail lights. I've recently replaced the old wiring loom and the next step is getting the lights repaired.

Happy New Year 🎊 thanks for following along 🤘 with any luck I'll have the old boy back up and running in the next episode. Then I'll be moving onto repairs to my link box & topper in time for spring to get some topping done myself 🤞 🤞 ✅

Hi great video, Ive got a dexta myself. Just a pointer, under all that goo/chewing gum on your injector pump is another bleed screw, yours is probaby leaking which is why its got that stuff all over it! If you bleed it there, it should start easily

Thanks for your comment, I got the original user handbook with the machine, so I have seen in the book that under the lump you are referring to is another bleed port & you're definitely right I suspect it's been covered due to a failed crush washer to. I Will be tackling bleeding the injectors in the next episode & fingers crossed 🤞 with all air out the system the old boy will run again ! :)

What was the cause of your starter to keep running after you let off of the start lever and then had to disconnect the battery? I just replaced my solenoid and got it to run for about 5-10 seconds before it died, like it ran out of fuel (I changed the filters, but the tank liner is disintegrating and I might have another problem there). When I tried to start the engine again and then let off the lever, my starter kept running as well, and like yours, the bendex wasn’t engaging the flywheel and I had to pull my battery cables to stop it. My wiring looks awful with cracks in the insulation and the red cable coming off of the front of the solenoid looks like it just has one strand left. Do you think it could be my wiring or something else? I’m debating replacing just a few of the wires but maybe the whole harness which would be a big job for me. I think mine is a 1958.

looks great, have identical one, i wil try to make some improvements/fixes you made, perfect manual for beginner! what about PTO transmission & gear oil change, any plans?

Thanks for your comments, I'm really pleased with how it's coming together so far too. I have only briefly driven the machine off it's transport trailer and onto my driveway. My intentions are to get it up and running in the next few weeks ( just need to bleed off injectors now) then once the engine/oils have warmed up I would be able to take a look at dropping the transmission oil & replacement Rear PTO seal.
