Come On Little Angel (Maresca-Bogdany) by The Belmonts, with Pete Bennett orchestra
This and their 1961 release “Tell Me Why” ( • 1961 HITS ARCHIVE: Tel... ) were the only two national top 40 hits for the group following Dion’s 1960 departure.
Pop Chart Peaks: Cash Box 26, Billboard 28, Music Vendor 39
THE 1962 HITS ARCHIVE - here in one place, a good-quality library of original-release-version best-sellers and songs which made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1962 (some were recorded in 1961).

I loved this song. I was in Junior High and we played it at our dances.

Carlo and Ernie Maresca, not that bad. Good harmonies, too.

Sabina Records was originally known as "Sabrina Records" when The Belmonts first hit with "Tell me Why". By the time of this second hit, the label's name was changed to "Sabina" Records by way of a printing error on the labels. The missing "R" in the spelling told the whole story.

No printing error. They were legally forced to change the name, as another label used the name "Sabrina".

@@Beaglemaster3 Thanks for pointing that out. It seems that record companies made accidents like that all the time. Just like Dolphin Records was changed to Dolton Records & Carnival Records was changed to A&M Records. all because of the existance of another label with the same name.

They were very good without Dion , but the four of them together were magical

When you here the Belmonts without Dion, you realise that Dion just had the magic ingredient.

I still have my copy of 'Baby Doll' by Carlo..which was as close as they got w/o Dion. They just weren't the same w/o him.

Yeah sounds like Donna the Prima Donna.

"Come On Little Angel" was released a year BEFORE "Donna the Prima Donna". However, Ernie Maresca co-authored both songs.
