Much better looking as a wagon than as a sedan. Nice work.

Yes in my case the wagon is better looking than the sedan, I have both and me sedan is ugly on the outside. Some photos: flic.kr/s/aHsmUPKrgU and a video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/anzMgH1ofM-kibc Cheers👍

I have a soft spot for 60-66 compact Mopars. Myself; grandpa and dad owned 40ish versions. Everything but convertibles and V-8. One 61 Dodge Lancer for almost 20 yrs; went thru 3 motors. My first car was 65 Valiant 4dr auto. Drove 2 yrs to high school. Cool build you got!!!!

My Dad had a 78, maybe 79 Aspen Wagon 225 Slant Six that had a 4 Speed on the floor. It came from the Factory that way and 4th was Overdrive. Perhaps you might find that set up some place? Great looking car!!! Can't wait to see your car on the road!

Removing the engine out through the bottom is the BEST way. I think it's mopar only, but it's how I've always done my Cuda and it's freakin GREAT. ESPECIALLY re-installing it like that.....

I remember very well this car, my family had this exact model, white colored and with a push button transmission.

I was doing the 318 for my V8 Valiant sedan, wasn't going to go too nuts. However, the factory machining was so bad we had to shave quite a bit off the decks to eliminate the front-to-back slope. Now my Keith Black pistons were going to be over 10:1 compression, so had to buy Cometic MLS 0.060" thick head gaskets to get it down to 9.45:1- and this is with '90 "308" casting 360 cylinder heads. Went ahead and put I-beam rods, a 340 crank (for future A-833 OD iron gearbox install), windage tray, a decent cam, TBC headers, stainless exhaust with an X-crossover, Performer Air Gap with a 650cfm carb...it's not crazy, but it is very "Revvy," and running in the Southern Classic it pulled 14-15 mpg on it's first outing. I run the 12" rotor swap, Doc Diff rear disc (Ford parts), Bergman Auto Craft steering & suspension parts, and a 3.23 sure-grip in an 8.75 that is braced on the back side. Went a little farther than I was planning to, but it really proving to be a ton of fun & no issues

I poked fun of Valiant. It looked funny. Not right on my part. It was actually a good durable car. 225 slant six gave it a fair amount of power and depenability.

I forgot that the ultra ugly Valiant came in a station wagon version! I don't think I've ever seen one before.
