Hey, Audie! A perfect sporty car! That white interior goes so well with the blue exterior. The car has to be pretty peppy with the V8 and manual tranny! Thanks! :) Jack

In the early 50s independent automakers introduced compact cars- Henry J, Rambler, Jet, Aero. and Crosley had been building a micro car. The Rambler was the only real success story, and a significant part of that was attributed to the upscale interior and exterior appearance. Ford paid attention when they introduced the Falcon and Comet in the early 60s. They didn’t look like cheap cars.

You are right...Ford wanted to make a name for itself in the compact market...and I guess it worked! People wanted economy, but they didn't want to look "economy"! Thanks! :) Jack

Hey Jack!! That is a stunning example of a '63 Futura Convertible!! I just LOVE these cars. We never got the convertible here, but our '63 Falcons were nearly identical. Our grill was different (which i prefer).

Hey, Tiger! I'm glad this car reminded you of your Falcons! They sure were a hit here, just what the public wanted. Thanks! :) Jack

I was in Orlando yesterday Jack but I didn't have time to do anything. I knew a guy who had one of those but it was a 4 speed and it was red interior with a black convertible top.

Hey, Gary! I was in Eustis, at home, avoiding the holiday traffic! Sorry to have missed you! Sounds like that Falcon was very cool...I hope it had the 260 V8! Thanks! :) Jack

I remember when the Falcons premiered in 1960. Then all car companies jumped on the small car craze

Hey, Steve! It really was a magic time...we eagerly waited for the new compact cars to be introduced! Those were the exciting times when we crowded the showroom on introduction day! Thanks! :) Jack
