I just stumbled across an LG-1 from 1963 in Niagara Falls, NY. What a gorgeous, balanced and comfy guitar to play. It's had some work done to ensure the next 60 yrs are good ones. This a great sofa strummer and won't break the bank to pickup a vintage Gibson acoustic that's so player friendly.

So wonderful to year your joy in the LG1. Many of my style are in this video. I started in earnest at 9, so trying to play guitar 62 years. Finally this year I hired a teacher for everything, All theory, piano, guitar, recording studio. I have had 28 guitars. One I still have... the first one. The sound is like bells ringing, like yours. Kept in top condition with improvements to bridge etc. Gibson j-45. I subscribed today. Now at 71 my health is strong. Like you I am grateful beyond words. You know. Thank you Tomo. Much Joy and Life to you in the future. Sam

Sold my 1960 LG-1 in 2010. Owned it for 35 years. Nice guitar and so much nostalgia, but too many guitars at the time and some had to go. Sometimes think I should have kept it, but eventually replaced it with a Martin custom shop 00018. Found the Martin has a wider range of tones and sounds fuller to my ear. Minimal regrets.

It is three years older than I. Many good things come from 60's. I like smaller body guitars. More intimate sound. What a clarity this guitar has? I can hear every note when strumming. It is good guitar sign. Not that big boom dreadnought which is standard country sound. Nice guitar and it things being bigger in size. Congrats!

What a beauty, and sustain forever. Quite loud for its size and great tone across the spectrum as you mentioned. I have quite a few 50s archtops and while I love them ,playing something smaller allows you to try different things, and get a different sound. I recently came across a guitar that was on my radar for a few years but thought unobtainium.I bought a Gibson 51 CF 100e in very fine condition. It is a relative of your guitar but with a Florentino cutaway,a p 90 pickup and the neck used on a 52 Les Paul. . They didn't make many but it's exceptional like yours with lots of sustain. Keep up the great inspired videos. These orphans can become friends for life.

Tomo, you struck gold! I have a 1963 Gibson B-25 cherry sunburst that is identical to yours, mine has an adjustable bridge. I bought mine in 1975 at Brothers Four Music in Seattle from Dick Foley, who was one of the Brothers Four. Mine has terrific bass response and clear ringing highs, it is perfect size to hold. It is great for strumming, flatpick, but especially finger style. I think you will come to love this guitar and will never need another acoustic. Happy New Year, you lucky dog! (PS on Lightnin' Hopkins stuff, when you go from E to A, use your thumb to slide quickly from F# to G before you hit your A string and you'll be cooking with Crisco).

The other important point is that the wood is now almost 60 years old. This is aged in a way a new guitar doesn't have yet and who has 60 years to wait for that to happen? You have brought about 60 years of tone, a rare quality. Good catch. The other point I think this model is ladder braced. So talking about the bracing is important part of the tone consideration and other factors as volume. I have a Gibson 1964 Lg-1 Very nice presentation.

I just bought a 1950 LG1 in excellent condition. They’re really cool sounding guitars! I just need to get a neck reset, lighter strings then I’ll be golden.

Awesome! There are so many LG-1s out there! This one is a great condition. All original.

What gage strings are on yours you think? I’ve got 12’s on mine and they’re too thick to really bend the strings

Tomo-san, you must have lots of guitars and lots of empty cardboard boxes at your house! You are much braver than me - I often think about getting new guitars, but you actually do it...Congratulations on buying this very nice vintage Gibson. It sounds great. Thanks for sharing the unboxing. Happy New Year to you!

I love guitars so much! Lately I am really into acoustic guitars. This is like my tuition learning vintage guitars. Thank you so much! You're very welcome!

That guitar sounds great! I have mostly acoustic guitars and that one definitely has a voice if it’s own!!! A new muse!!
