I need to watch this whole series, I have two of these L models, they had been running before I bought them. I've got two more modern 5000 series Walk behinds; one I fixed up and it works great, the other needs a governor adjustment as it runs flat out. My general sense is the L's are heavier duty than later ones, plus they have oil filters and sediment bowls.

I have my battery tray and hood and other stuff for the L8 but I want to mount the breather down like you have here,is that mounted on the top center trans to engine bolt?

green&yella fella there is a hole where n the transmission casting for it. Do you mean air cleaner not breather ? Newer machines have the air filter on the side by the carb....

rw3dog the '66 l8,it's mounted on the left handle bar and I haven't seen any others mounted that way they're always mounted like you have here it's in harm's way out there on the bar, she's gonna be a working girl.

Easy peasy. The fan though is gonna suck to fix. Both the navy L and postal gave me fan grief

I bought the same tractor but mine is a pull start carburetor leaks 😂from the mouth
