The fact it still exists for a vauxhall of that era is nothing short of a miracle. My old man was very much a Ford man and scoffed at vauxhall as " they rot while you watch" Always will remember that .Mind you Fords had the same habit.

My Grandad had one of these late 60's, grey with a red roof. Took us all around France and into Spain on several holidays, never missed a beat. I loved it.

I have a '61 FB Victor. Only bought it to save it from rotting in a neighbour's garden. Did paint, rechrome, anything it needed, really. Love it now.

The FB was the least rust prone of all the Victor marks. After the disaster of the F/FS model, Vauxhall seemed to over compensate with this model, and while the earlier ones rapidly piled up in scrapyards, many FBs were on the road for a long time.

Looks like a '64 model-year therefore series-FBE which means 1595cc engine. With the (optional) four-speed floor-change instead of standard 3-speed column-change. Another option was front disc-brakes including 14-inch wheels but can't see what this one has.

Two cars for the price of one, nice 😀

Almost two vauxhalls for the price of one! All those spares would cost a pretty penny, if you could source them.

I had one of these ,as a stop gap motor, when I finished with it drove it straight to the scrap yard, the body was gone, especially round the wheel arches, and the brakes were worn out, They use to say when I lived in Ampthill, Bedfordshire that Ford made the better body, but Vauxhall made the better engine, probably ask Derek about that one

1963 Vauxhall Victor is now 60 years old in 2023. Very nice car 🚘 to happen. Done ☑️ very well 👌 on the road since brand new. Had a good 👍 long life and could still be on the road on Thursday 31st December 2043 to be 80 years old if survives. Nice 👌 4 door 🚪 saloon car 🚘.

Automatic gearbox? The FB never came with one. Only the FC did and that was the Powerglide 2 speed box. People mocked it as a slushbox but as long as the motor was in good condition then it got you from A to B (which day was another thing).......

@@maybugz Er no I did not, it just popped up and that make and model was my first car. It still gives me nightmares - I hated it.
