Robert! Hows the recovery coming along? Thanks so much for thinking of me and sending something along to add to the shop. As always, be safe my Friend! Shop time is kicking my rear end, but my Pain Doctor recommended CBD oil to me and I just got started on it. We'll see if it helps the arthritis and back pain after it's in my system. With it not being FDA regulated, it's on my dime and it's NOT CHEAP....so we'll see if it's worth the expense. Fingers crossed! Cheers my Friend! Zip~

Well Many thanks, I have used the pot oil now for 2 years and it is a bit bitter on my salad or whatever but I think it helps. I get mine online from Canada and yes it is a bit pricey but at least Hemp oil is a natural product. A small 40 OZ. bottle lasted me close to a Year!! I hope it works for You My Friend Too!!!! Have You tried The hemp salve? smells better than ben gay and it really really helps. me and my wife both use it.. plus You can have fun smearing it on one another!!!!! HHaaHaa, Yes dont over do it in the shop in this heat!!! My rehab nurses give everybody in the class hell if we over do it. Glad to see You are well!! Stay safe , bob

Just subscribed. Very nice posts Mr. Zippo. I have a restored (not by me) Allis B-210 that I need to throttle up higher. Not sure which adjustments to make. When I pull the cable to full, it only goes so high, then drops back down. Can you tell me what I might be missing?

question; I have sim carb and engine on simplicity Baron, but my carb has 4 bolts at float ( same as many other carbs you highlighted, Zippo). I have rebuilt and cleaned carb as shown here several times ( including special screw driver) Also have in line fuel filter and on/off valve. Once running, all works. But starting it is very difficult and random. another small deviation is the idle screw needs 2.25 turns and not the spec 1/2 to 3/4 turns ( that was the original setting I went back to and it at least gets me started sometimes. Suggestion(s) to start reliably?
@ZippoVarga4 жыл бұрын
These engines love to start at low idle. The throttle rod that your throttle cables end is connected to has two 1/4" nuts which are there to set your high and low RPM. Adjust the top nut until your butterfly closes when the throttle cable is set to low idle. Then, give it a go....9 times out of 10, this nut is not adjusted correctly and the result is too much fuel entering the combustion chamber on the cold engine. KEep us posted on your progress! Zip~
@mtwolinks4 жыл бұрын
I really was confident that would do the trick because the butterfly was not resting/stopped against the carb at low/no throttle, but after adjustment of the 1/4 " nut to fix butterfly, I get the same result. Won't start.any other suggestions are welcome. Much thanks!

Hey Zippo! Your channel has saved me a crap ton of frustration but I have an issue I haven't seen you do yet. I'm swapping carbs on an old B-10 and the new carbs have the choke lever on the outside of the carb whereas they use to have it on the inside. In any case my choke cable isn't long enough. I've taken the cable 90% out but I'm stuck on popping the cable out of its little pinch lock. How would you pop the cable out? Screw driver and twist? AFTER I snipped off the cable to the choke handle I realized I could have just used an extension between the original cable and the choke lever so sadly I am at that point where I absolutely have to replace the choke cable.
@ZippoVarga3 жыл бұрын
The choke arm can be swapped to the inside by means of removing the Welsh plug on the end, taking out the two screws and swapping the arm from outside to inside. Hopefully the carburetor you got to replace the original isn't one of those cheap Chinesium knock off carbs. Glad my videos have helped A2B! Keep us posted on your progress. And yes, just gently spread apart the fingers holding the cable in place. Replace with the same diameter cable for best results. Zip~
@MountainDewBots3 жыл бұрын
@@ZippoVarga I had a brain fart and went and picked up a 72" universal choke cable, cut the ends off and pulled the inner cable out and then ran it through the original cable housing. Hooked one end to the choke lever and mounted the cable like it would need to be on the outside of the carb, rough guesstimated and cut the extra cable wire down to size, bent it and hooked it into the choke lever on the carb, worked like a charm and the transition from closed to open choke is nice and smooth. Sadly it is a chinesium EBay special however to my surprise after I bolted everything back together and the thing starts right up immediately with that eBay carb. Didn't have to make any adjustments to it or anything. I'm gonna be testing how well it handles cold starts versus warm starts etc.

Working on a 65 big ten, it ran when I got it. After I cleaned the squirrel nest and mud daubers out of the engine there was no spark. Replaced the coil, it has spark but still won't start. Any suggestions on what to look for? TIA
@frankdeegan89746 жыл бұрын
I have a question. You took care of the carb. That was a symptom from sitting too long with gas in the bowl. My question, when you find junk in the carb wouldn't it be a good idea to investigate the gas tank too.
@ZippoVarga6 жыл бұрын
Yes Frank. I didn't mention though that the tank was stored dry and was installed as a new tank prior to Muggsie bringing the tractor to me for the carb service and he was the first to ever put fresh 93 octane ethanol free fuel in it last week. But yes, you should always go through the entire fuel system when you discover ethanol related issues in the carbs. Cheers Frank! Zip~

We have a B 10 Allis that seems to vapor lock all the time. Can you gives us some help on this problem. We are about ready to give up on this tractor.
@ZippoVarga3 жыл бұрын
Don't give up! Try routing the fuel line in a different manner. Any dip or up swing on the fuel line will cause an air bubble which will stop the flow of fuel. Route the fuel line as you see it in this video. Make sure the fuel tank is very clean as well. Often, the little filter in the tank gets clogged. Remove it, cut off that screen/filter and install an in line filter and fuel shut off. Let me know how it goes. Zip~

Awesome! Great job restoring that baby. So I have a question if you have time. Why am I having such a hard time with the starter on my 75 Brigg's 16Hp? I keep going through gears, the last one I had busted clean in half and the one before that I got maybe 10 starts and it cracked so it stopped working. Any thoughts on why this keeps happening? Cheers!
@ZippoVarga6 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the 16hp in Shaun's Kwik-Way loader tractor. The Ring Gear is worn out and that causes the starter gear to get chewed up. Options are, new ring gear or donor flywheel of the same vintage or a Starter Generator set up like I did on the Kwik-Way. Great to hear from you Sir Moto and so sorry you're having issues!! It's frustrating I know. Keep me posted! Zip~
@MidwestMotoRider6 жыл бұрын
Thanks bud, one question do you still think its the ring gear even if the gears on the starter are not getting chewed up? The last one broke in 2 and shows no sign of being chewed up, the one before that one cracked in between teeth in one spot also no sign of it being chewed?.
