1964 Army vs Navy

This is the 11/28/1964 Army vs Navy game. Army would end a 5 game Navy winning streak and it was a small measure of payback for their leader QB Rollie Stichweh. He had done an admirable job in the more famous 1963 game but his counterpart Heisman Winner Roger Staubach was a little better. This year it was he, and Army coming out on top. It is also remembered as Roger Staubach's last Navy game. This was a 16 mm film that was shown to the troops overseas. It was never meant to come home. After all we leave billions in equipment behind to rust when we leave a deployment. For some reason this one did come back and sold on EBay a few years ago.

Has to be, right ;) You appear to know this, but FYI Lindsay worked college play-by-play under both the CBS ('62-'63) and NBC ('64-'65) NCAAF contracts, and most of the previous seasons; he missed only '60 and '61. I believe that's Notre Dame's Terry Brennan on the color commentary. For 1965 NBC replaced coach Brennan with Bud Wilkinson, although he would work with Nelson just for that one season; Wilkinson went to ABC when it got the contract for 1966 on, supporting Chris Schenkel on play-by-play.
