I never used to like this body style but it has grown on me over the years and I like it now.

The early body style just makes you smile. Both generations are beautiful in their own right. Had a 64 turbo convertible loved it and miss it.

The first generation cars were like the tall gangly girl with braces. Second generation she becomes a supermodel. 😊❤

Talk about dejavu all over again. I bought a brand new 64 Corvair in early Spring of that year in ,Portland, OR, following a hit and run wreck on Mt. Hood. I was in the last months of my Coast Guard enlistment. In June, my wife and 2 year old son left Seattle on a three week trip across the Country. Seattle, Los Angles, Dallas, St. Louis, Washington DC, Cape Cod to Groveland, MA. Including side trips along the way to see America’s best natural wonders. The only thing missing was AC, so windows down most of the way. Yes, we saw, felt and tasted America up close and personal (with apologies to our Northern tier of states). Alas, restarting civilian life had no room for car payments, so I had to sell it the next year when we bought a house. What a wonderful car it was!! Thanks for posting this video!!

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Club Coupe looks to be a very honest original auto mobile ! & I believe that the base engine for the 64 Corvair was 95 HP engine when they up the displacement to 164 cubic inches ! Thanks for the video & honest review.

You are correct. The base engine for 64 was the 95HP. I knew that. Not sure why I didn't SAY that....

All first gen cars - outside the Spyder, with the turbo and Carter YF - were dual carb. I had 2 - both a '62 and a '63 - my biggest problem with the styling of the early car - save the doors, hood and trunk lid - it was one piece , and if you wrecked it - you had to just about cut body parts from another car and section them in, and it would lessen the structural strength !!

I just picked up a 64 last week from Kentucky 36,000 original miles. Paint is in rough shape and definitely some surface rust but its being taken to the shop tomorrow to have the engine gone over and then off to the body shop

I had a friend who bought one of these brand new, not sure which year. His was a Monza coupe, black with red interior, with 4 speed manual floor shift. I loved that car.

Nice interior! Are those seats as soft as they appear? Modern seats are like church pews to me

Such a beautiful, classy car. Not enough respect given to this American "porsche", and that one is a heart breaker :)

Just a suggestion. You could drive it over to a seamstress that's good with a needle and thread and have that seat piping fixed up.🤔

Maybe it's current owner did just that...

Imagine if GM had the sense to make this an ELECTRIC vehicle. All the design work and the name are already done. It's a shame, because this could be a cash cow!
