1964 Fairlane 500, Centerforce AND Suspension Install!

In todays episode we get the ‪@CenterforceClutches‬ products installed on the 1964 Fairlane to finalize the 5 speed swap!
As seen in the last episode we ran into some interesting suspension hurdles, a broken main leaf spring! With the time crunch for Hot Rod Power Tour being less than 2 weeks, we did the only thing we could and welded the leaf spring!
We're checking things off the LOOOOONNGGG daunting list, but are we working fast enough to finish before the deadline and make it to Hot Rod Power Tour 2023?

FYI/ FWIW 60 Galaxie tank and gauge fit right in. 20 gallons (instead of 16) because it is wider into the factory muffler space. Late 70s Granada etc factory 1" anti roll bar fits, use a Mustang-like bracket. I used the '67 HD 8" chunk with an Eaton TruTrak gear type posi 3.50 gear, added a drain plug👍. 5.0 HO+, T5, etc. Rust free, wreck free hardtop southern car. Had it 33 years. Good luck with the wheel hop, lol😆👍😎.

New intro yeah? Like it. I've never welded a leaf before but bought an old Torino where it had been done. Wasn't going to load up the trunk often so just let it ride. And it was fine for the 3+ years I owned it.

No, still Z bar/mechanical. The t5 has an adapter plate to be able to use an old school bellhousing. Also made my own upper linkage with heim joint.

Why save the old leaf springs?! all those new parts and labor to risk a side of the road breakdown due to using old broken / re-welded leaf springs??

Because we had 5 days before leaving. Zero chance new leafs would show up on time+ being able to install them. The leafs to this day are still fine after many miles on them. Not worried about them
