My first car was a '64 Tbird that was Black with a red vinyl interior. It was 1975, I was 16 and I paid $350. I still love that baby!! 🖤🖤

My first car. 16 in 1976. Black with red leather. I have never been in any car since with the quality of leather as these beauties. Wish I still had it. This masterpiece here is the Jeannie in the Bottle. Just like Barbara Eden. Ageless, classy, beautiful, down to earth, and sexy. Before I die, I will have a 1965 T Bird again. I would love to have this one. A true Gentlemans Muscle Car Sleeper.

@JRobert1111119 ай бұрын
Depends. I had a 65 long ago. The power windows on these things are an absolute POS; poorly designed and unreliable. You're probably lucky getting one with manual cranks such as this car. Not fancy, but definitely less headaches.

Agree. Especially the 65’s with the cool sequential turn signals! That was the first year that Disc Brakes were standard! This was a HUGE improvement. The early 60’s big Fords and T Birds were horrible on brakes! Discs stopped this problem.
@JeromyBranch4 жыл бұрын
@@craigjorgensen4637 ya man you know those power assisted drums were not TOO bad but yes disc brakes are a world of difference. You remember they used to race those old Galaxies and Tbirds and the big Mercury cars on those drum brakes...with no PS and cable clutch links that had 160lb springs or something crazy like that. Hadda be a real man to muscle one of those around a race track right?
@JeromyBranch4 жыл бұрын
@@craigjorgensen4637 I agree...like them all. I especially like the 68 bird. 1st year for that awesome 429...called it a Thunderjet. That was a seriously torquey engine. And the body style was so ugly that you hadda love it. Sorta like PBR and Southern Comfort. SOMEBODY got to win the old oaken bucket...but I have no memories of any of the games lol.

How much, nice job on this resto job, I also have a 64 blackbird red interior, 390 obviously but I have the heavy duty rear end and axles, I don't know if they all came that way, cars from Albany NY still had it marked on the trunk around lock from the dealer, it's now faded off, if you could tell me around what it costs parts wise for interior parts that would be cool, I already did motor ball joints and brakes along with bearing's re packed, OEM radiator from Thunderbird head quarters, needs brake booster and wheels tires, then I'm going to drive it around.

No power windows makes it better. Mine has power windows, and it always has an issue.
@craigjorgensen46374 жыл бұрын
Jim Lubinski I guess that’s one way to look at it. I disagree. A car like that SHOULD have power windows. I do agree they had problems with bad switches that broke constantly. They also had countless vacuum problems with their door locks and ac and heater operation. Beautiful cars but troublesome when compared to their main competitor the Buick Rivieras.
@jimlubinski47314 жыл бұрын
@@craigjorgensen4637 It's been the window motors with mine. Never just a one time thing to replace them. If I weren't obsessed with originality, I'd try to convert them to manual. I've found power windows problematic in Ford and GM products.
@craigjorgensen46374 жыл бұрын
Jim Lubinski I have never once had a power window problem with any of my GM cars. A few problems with Fords but not that many. Those T Birds also had vacuum problems that would affect the door locks and a/c and heater controls. Those swing away wheels could be nasty too and suddenly dump the cars into reverse with the engine running. Of course THEN the auto parking brake would release! Lots of fun and excitement when that happened!
@jimlubinski47314 жыл бұрын
@@craigjorgensen4637 We have extremely different experiences! Actually the swing away wheel prevents slipping out of park. Hey, you're a GM guy, I'm mostly a Ford guy. I'm not going to disparage GM. I'm just saying I had power window issues with both manufacturers.
