1964 in Country Music History!

Yep, the Beatles were in the news in 1964. But we were focused on not squeezing the Charmin. Johnny Cash was huge. So was Lefty Frizzell. But the big number one came from Buck Owens and the Buckaroos!

The crazy thing about this song is that it never made it to number 1. It was released late in 64 and peaked at number 3. But there are many great country standards that never made it to number 1, but time proved that they were country classics.
