The early 60s was classic in fashion and styling. Jan and Dean could walk around today in these outfits and still look cool.

I was always trying to dress like Jand D when I was a kid. Now all these years later my style is sort of Jan and Dean meets LL Bean. Works for me !

I have said that many times! Definitely a classic look. The late 1960’s and 1970’s looked like costumes, not that great of a look.

Jan looks cool in his rugby shirt. In 2001 I saw him at LAX in a wheelchair in a near catatonic state. It was sad but at least he's not suffering anymore. The music will live forever.

I just mentioned I liked them & had seen a documentary on them & Dead Man's Curve. Jan was a super brite guy too. A shame. Dean continued singing & touring various groups.

If I’m correct, J&D were good friends with The Beach Boys and even played on each other’s sessions
@shaykatz56485 ай бұрын
@@jennifersman7990 I don't recall, possibly, they were aware of each other for certain. Bruce Johnson & Terry Melcher also released some surf type music. When Brian Wilson stopped touring with the Beachboys it was Bruce Johnson that filled in & still was last they performed. I don't like Bruce because I was so upset that my teenage crush Brian wasn't onstage when I saw them in concert about 1967. Silly girl!

I loved the 60s surfing songs! I surfed every day I could. I made my own surfboard and still have it today. My friend Bobby Farrell made surfboards and taught me how. I have one of his boards too.

@@jennifersman7990 Yes! You are correct! I've watched a KZbin semi-documentary on both groups at different times & do vaguely recall 1 of them mentioning they'd done some work with the Beachboys, but don't recall the details. Bummer! Old age! 🙃
