Pete was the Rose Morris 1997/'335' and '345' guy. Played - and shattered - a slew of these in the early days of The Who. Ultra cool-looking and sounding - vibe for days.

Rose Morris was a guitar store in Shaftesbury Avenue in Soho, London. I used to go in there all the time throughout the 70s and try gear out. They always had stuff before anyone else did. They also imported tons of different musical instruments, including Japanese-made guitars, which they labelled "Shaftesbury". I bought a very nice Aria Pro II in there in 1979. Happy days! 😊❤

Nice playing. It showed how versatile a Rickenbacker can be. From a buyer’s perspective, it is absolutely critical to know if the neck has been reset or if it has the typical problem of the neck pitching upwards - grommets removed under pickups and bridge sitting on the body.

Rose Morris were made to that particular shop's specs. I don't know the details, but certainly the shape of the F hole is tailored to the Morris order.

Rose-Morris was the UK DISTRIBUTOR of Rickenbacker guitars. The company did not open a Retail store until late 1967 so the instrument shown in this video would probably have been sold to a UK or European retailer. Very nice guitar but the 345 models command much higher prices because they are a lot rarer.

Rose Morris might've been the UK Rick distributor but they didn't sell any to the Beatles as John got his in Germany and George got his first one in Illinois while visiting sis and the 12 string was gifted during 1st Ed Sullivan invasion in '64. Later Rose Morris sold the "Beatle Backer" Rose Morris special orders of Ricks with the weird F holes. John was given a 325 Rose Morris that Ringo got and may have auctioned off by now. Hard to believe they are still made down the I5 freeway from me in LA in Santa Ana to this day. 🎸

Micheal. i Live about A Mile from Penny Lane In Liverpool and this sort of stuff always plucks at my Heart strings. You certainly do it justice my friend . Penny lane will always be associated with the Beatles but another Musical Giant will also be associated with the same road. Freddie Mercury was in a Liverpool Band Called The Ibex, he lived in a spare room in Dovedale Towers which is still there today. That was 1969.
