The signs on the float say "Water Bill". Not sure, but the Jackson Pike water treatment plant had recently been expanded so perhaps the water and sewer rates were increased for that reason.

Upper Arlington was, and still is, a conservative town. So you can bet that it was full of people who felt Beatles style rock n' roll was an annoying threat to right wing American values.
