10 Hall of Famers on a single team, almost half of their starters. It's hard to deny that they were as good as any team in history. I had forgotten just how dominant they were. The Packers were my favorite team then and still are. Bart Starr was my hero. I love these old videos.

You must be an old timer like me ! ! The Pack in that period ,always ( well NOT always .They lost to the Eagles in 60 . But just short of the Goal Line and Bednarik made the stop ! ) I Believe after that Start went 9 and zero in championships that followed . I had the privilege of chatting with. Bart decades later .He was a true gentleman , humble , team oriented QB . NOT at all like a modern day QB making 50 million, demanding what " buddies " he wants on the team That have LOST more Title games and continue to be obnoxious ,arrogant ,and not at all concerned with winning football titles BUT still get voted MVP .Can you imagine if Bart played 16 ,17 years what his numbers ( that only seem to matter to INDIVIDUAL stats ! Not the teams overall success with Ws and Championships ! SAD , The NFL Has become a " Hollywood " and all about individual stats . Those stat players Do they ever mention that without the other guys on the team ,those " lofty stats " might not have been attainable playing on a different team ? NO Its a " hurray for me and the hell with everyone else "

Bart Starr, in my opinion, is the most successful qb in Packers history. He didn't have a cannon for an arm, but was the most accurate passer of his time, could make any pass needed, threw few interceptions and was as good as any qb in history when playing under pressure in must win games. He won 5 NFL championships and the first 2 Superbowls. Despite his accomplishments, he isn't generally discussed as one of the all time greats and is generally not mentioned with Johnny Unitas as the best of the Era. If winning is the priority, he is right there with the all time greats, definitely the best of time period he played.

Man. This high quality, multiple angles, slow motion film shows just how hard these men played. They fought for every inch of yardage as if their lives depended on it. Seemed to always take 2-3 guys to bring one man down . Talk about Warriors, Gladiators. Wow. Not to take anything away from the guys in the 1940’s & ‘50’s, but the addition of face masks starting in the late 50’s certainly changed the way they started tackling. 🙏🏈

@bigmike4962 I recall reading sbout the great Henry Jordan. Once during a preseason practice the Packer Defense was taking a breather as they were getting back into shape after the off season. Henry looked down the field and in the distance saw a slim, well proportioned redhead woman in a sleeveless blouse and shorts. He said, "That sure is an attractive gal down there in the green shorts." One of his team mates ssid, Well that's a good thing Henry. That's your wife Olive." 😄 Before Super Bowl I against the KC Chiefs, one of the KC linemen said the Packer facing him (Jordsn) wouldn't get to Lenny Dawson the Chief's QB. When asked for a response Jordan replied, " Well I guess he's going to do it 'cause he said so. But (with a small smile abd twinkke in his eyes) I wonder who's brain he's going to use because his doesn't have enough experience to deal with an old fox like me. Give me these young strong kids anytime. They're easy to handle." Jordan was right as he demonstrated his all-pro abilities throughout the game.

Jimmy Taylor was the best fullback ever, next to Jim Brown. He was as tough as nails and never quit. He never ran around an opponent, he ran through them, just like Jimmy Brown. Great memories growing up with the 60s Packers.

I love these days of classic football. These men were built different. My favorite player ever Johnny Unitas and I just always remember the Packers throughout the decade of the 60’s were just so good and would usually beat my Colts. RIP coach Lombardi. He truly is the best there ever was.

Chandler's fourth quarter field goal attempt to tie the game did not "curve between the uprights" but off to the viewer's left. Next season they installed huge, towering steroid-injected goal posts in every stadium to make up for such an untimely blown call.

If Dick Butkus was footballs meanest Linebacker, Ray Nitschke wasn't far behind him. He was Frankenstein in a Football Helmet!! Just like all the old Packers. They were a perfect extension of the greatest coach in the history of Professional Football. Defensive Tackle Henry Jordan stated that "Lombardi treats us all alike. LIKE DOGS!!" That was nothing compared to how the Packers treated their opponents. The great John Facenda said that Lombardi called his direct approach "Grinding Meat. And he turned Green Bay into a Meat Grinding Machine." It wasn't merely that the Packers executed flawlessly. They played with great imagination as well. Look at how many long passes were completed in this great video. Bart Starr had to rank behind only the great John Unitas in his era. Simply, because Starr had a more powerful team around him. Like every other team, the Packers had an occasional poor performance. But, never when it mattered most!! Lombardi drove his team harder and reached deeper than any other coach. And his team plummed the bottom of the well for the Magic required for victory. I believe it was equal parts "Pride and Fear." His players loved Lombardi. But, they were terrified of him as well. For good reason!! They simply hated losing more than they loved winning. No coach could teach the Fundamental Game of Football like Vince Lombardi. Or could drain the cup dry of every drop of effort from his Legions. The greatest coach in Pro Football. Or any other sport for that matter.

Amazing how the Lombardi Packers are given short shrift today. In 1958 they won one game. By January 1968, they celebrated their 5th championship in 7 years. Oh, in one of those years? They were 11-2-1 and weren't in the playoffs, half game behind the Bears. Easily could have been 6 out of 7. Tell me again Patriots fans why Lombardi isn't the best ever. He never coached a losing team. Including High School. He never played or coached basketball. Became the coach. Became the absolute best high school basketball team in the state in their class within 2 years. Lombardi is also a member of the historic 7 Blocks Of Granite football team. He quietly but firmly forced equality into Green Bay culture. Before Lombardi? Black players were segregated from areas in and around Green Bay. Vince went to Business Leaders with his concerns. Green Bay became more inclusive. I'm old, Lombardi was still coaching when I was a kid, but I was to busy playing with my Tonkas.

If only the first Superbowl started in the 1965 season instead of the 1966 season the Green Bay Packers would have won the first 3 Superbowls because back in 1965 the afl's Buffalo Bills like all other Afl teams were the inferior football league compared to the better established NFL.
