@Jakov Jerkovic Are u for real , this good fight , and as for Bowe & Holyfield is nothing compared to Ali vs Frazier 3, Know as the greatest and most savage heavyweight fight ever filmed . Bowe & Holyfield 1 is a good fight but does not come close to what happened in the Trilla in Manila.

Floyd Patterson is probably one of, if not the most underestimated heavyweight of all time. He was tough as nails with a heart of gold. He whipped Ingo’s head around with the most beautiful left hook to ever punch a man in the face. That man was, and is one of the greats. God bless his soul.

No he wouldn't. He could have fought at middleweight if he wanted to even back then. He used to walk around even less than 175 which was the light heavyweight limit even in his first championship years. he had to put on weight everytime he fought. The heavyweight is top of boxing and the heavyweight champion is the top of the boxing world. Floyd wanted nothing less. I've asked him about this in person and it was his answer. I might been small for a heavyweight, but I was just as bad as those big guys, he said. These are the exact words that he used too.

Patterson got the better of the exchanges. He beat Chuvalo to the punch consistently. Floyd landed the cleaner, more effective punches. He stung Chuvalo several times with right hand leads, jabs, for which his opponent had no apparent defense, and left hooks. Patterson put together several flurries and often out fought Chuvalo inside, even though the Canadian was the bigger man. Chuvalo committed several fouls in the fight. Floyd Patterson was clearly the winner of this bout.

Marciano probably weighed about 250 pounds in this interview so of course he made Patterson look small. Patterson is not only heavier but, also taller when both are at their fighting weights. Patterson was small for a HW back then. Patterson taking all his body blows. That's how Chuvalo would KO people. Just attack the body until the later rounds and then start ripping shots to the head. Such delusion in hindsight. But this was the popular belief. That Ali was really Clay. That Liston was unbeatable, still even after being beaten. That Floyd would save Boxing? Floyd couldn't even save himself and he would get his rematch with Liston, and it was too bad he did. He was lucky to get out of the ring alive! People finally learned how to say "Ali" instead of "Clay". And the myth of invincibility was transferred from Sonny Liston to another unfortunate lug, Mike Tyson.

Marciano dwarfs Patterson in the studio. Would love to have seen Marciano fight live. Marciano is a fighter that would still give today’s giant heavyweights trouble.

Rocky is retired here and balloned to over 230 pounds. When he was fighting he was 185. Rocky was 5 feet 10. He would get TOTALLY ANNILHILATED against today's fighters. Rocky fought little 190 pound men. Yes, he crushed them, but they were bums and old men. He could NEVER compete against Today's Heavyweights. Liston crushed his opponents too, but he wouldn't last against Modern Heavies either.

@@thespy7795 i think with modern training methods.. basically weights.. maybe juice too, Marciano would have been a solid 210-220. And sonny would be an absolute beast too. In some ways a “heavyweight” isn’t what it used to be, simply cause it’s not hard to get up to a solid muscular weight, whereas back then it was basically people just fighting at their normal size. Marciano would be fine I think.. I mean look at Andy Ruiz- he’s like 5’11 and built like Marciano was in his retirement.

Chuvalo was a dirty fighter. Holding and hitting, hitting behind head, kidney punches. Just dirty. I'm glad Foreman and Frazier punished him. Ali whipped him up pretty badly twice too

I've GOTTA chime in here....been a boxing aficionado for over 50 years and have seen ALL the big fights and fighters..Firstly, Chuvalo wasn't dirty he had a very awkward style and was a brawler and heavy body puncher.Forman AND Frazier didn't punish Chuvalo...pretty well NOBODY did. Never off your feet is one hell of a claim to fame --- especially during this era of some of the greatest of all time....Boxing is a great topic for debate , but make sure of your facts before making unfounded claims.......!

I would class George Chuvalo in the same category of Karl Mildenberger and Brian London. Over-rated fighters, who were lucky to get a great payday, but offered mediocrity to us fight fans. Just a huge waste of money to watch them get beat with little boxing skills or defensive or offensive ability.
