He stung Chuvalo several times with right hand leads, jabs, for which his opponent had no apparent defense, and left hooks. Chuvalo's granite chin aside, Floyd was landing clean shots and was up in volume in his winning rounds, by my eye at least. Floyd Patterson, in the later rounds, is fighting in the style of Joe Frazier, close-in-fighting. Had Patterson fought the early rounds in the style of Frazier, the fight would not have lasted 12 rounds.

Patterson couldnt do what nobody else could do in 93 fights, and thats knock Chuvalo off his feet. Sorry, but nobody, could.

Frazier sent Chuvalo to the hospital and Foreman stopped Chuvalo in only three rounds. The fight with Frazier caused Chuvalo to have his eye drop out of its socket in the fourth round.

Stephen Winkler What? Seriously, Joe made Chuvalo's eye come out? How gruesome.

Stephen Winkler It was a freak punch that cracked his eye socket. If it hadn't been for that George would've whipped him good.

I would class George Chuvalo in the same category of Karl Mildenberger and Brian London. Over-rated fighters, who were lucky to get a great payday, but offered mediocrity to us fight fans. Just a huge waste of money to watch them get beat with little boxing skills or defensive or offensive ability.

A 17 year old Tyson would have smashed Patterson. Liston almost killed him. Patterson was all class and balls though. Cus trained both and would likely agree with me.

Floyd was a BETTER fighter WITHOUT D'amato.

Yeah,he learnt to be more well rounded and actually fought better oppositions, but let's not forget what's the fundamentals Cus taught him.

Sorry to buck popular opinion, but I dislike Ali more every time I watch one of these old films. He’s got to always, always, ALWAYS be the center of attention and cannot allow ANYONE else have a moment. He sucks up all the oxygen in the arena.

Floyd Patterson was the biggest phony next to Rocky. Mr humble give me a break. as for this fight, George was never hurt or in any difficulty in the entire fight.George hurt Floyd three times.the referee let Floyd hold over and over so George couldn't work to the body ,then come up to the head. close fight 6 5 1 Chuvalo.

I saw the Chuvalo-Frazier fight in the old MSG. watching this fight..boy Chuvalo was a dirty fighter. flagrantly so. Im wondering why Patterson respected him so much. he went after the back of Patterson's head like a wolverine trying to take down a deer
