This Dano, while it sounds good, was incorrectly setup by whomever did the”setup” on it. They’ve attached the bridge incorrectly, makes me wonder what “vintage” experts wouldn’t notice this.

@@zeros-gy7bl It's not that it's slanted, it's definitely supposed to be slanted. In this video they've screwed the bridge down to the top with those screws from the top, with the bridge plate sitting flat on the top of the guitar. The two front screws go in before the bridge, and there are recessed cups on the bottom edge of the plate that sit on top of the two front screws. The third rear screw is then put in after the bridge is placed on top of those two "pivot point" screws. The third screw keeps the bridge in place when the strings go on, but it is also a great design because you can vary the break angle of the bridge over the saddle. With the plate screwed down like this the ball ends of the string would be digging into the top, and the correct height of the original rosewood saddle would have made the strings sit right on the frets. You can see that was the case with this because some nut-job went and glued a bunch pieces of wood underneath the original saddle to increase the height. If they would have installed it correctly they could have had on-the-fly height adjustment at the bridge, and break angle adjustment. Seriously goofy rookie move, really makes me question what they have going on over there.

I had a 90s reissue of one of these and it is still the guitar I most regret selling. It was kind of junk tbh but it was special
