That's a georgeous '65 Coronet. Brings back some fond memories of my 65 coronet ex Florida highway patrol interceptor. .It was 1969. I was 21 and had just returned home from Vietnam. I got stationed down at Ft Rucker Alabama, and was out cruising the area and just happened to see this white 4 door dodge on a used car lot. I traded my '60 impala 6 cylinder +$400.00 Believe me when I say I had a ball with this "SLEEPER". It would easily, and without a struggle, handle anything out there. The Police suspension made it handle and ride like a dream. Total police package 426 wedge, w/auto. I was King of the road in '69 in my police interceptor ✌🇺🇸

Beautiful car ! To say its a "Galaxie Killer" is a little biased. Lol, both great cars. This one shows better than any I've seen. Wish I would have known about it when it was being sold.

Would never kill a 1965 galaxies r code 427 side oiler . It couldn’t do it back in the day unless it had the 426 hemi. But it is a good looking great sounding car, but don’t write no checks you can’t cash son. It hooks because with that high gear it can’t spin .But I am glad you toddlers are taking interest in real cars.

@@1982MCI when I tell younger guys about my 63 300 q code which was really rarer than the light weights they don’t know what either one is. I know one thing that 352/360 h.p. Starliner is rare in number and to have survived in tact. That is the first high performance fe, and it’s in the sport model. You can read the specifications and models available in the book Fearsome Fords. It shows a 76 unocal sponsored 60 Starliner getting prepped for nascar. That book if still in publication is pretty accurate on the performance fords of the 1960’s

Ain't going for the "Galaxie Killer" bit... Slap all that after market shit on a 427 Galaxie and stroke it as well, and I believe the race would depend on the drivers. Mopar, Ford, and Chevy all were powerful cars in the 60s Muscle Car era...

In another video he's got a 63 Galaxy w/427 fe, black also. Obviously someone put the 427 in there w/2 4 barrel carbs. It had a serious hesitation when he'd hammered it. This one seemed to take off seemlessly.

You can get a 427 in a 65 Galaxie and it’s Mercury counterpart. But once you started comparing modified cars to stock cars, it’s all thrown out the door. Just remember that 427 and Hemis are/were rare cars. You much more more likely to find race a 390 Galaxie or 383 Coronet

I have a 65 Coronet 500 and I can tell everyone from years of experience working on these that this car is unbelievably clean and perfect. People don’t realize that the Mopar aftermarket catalogue starts at 1966 for almost ALL the parts. Finding anything parts for this car is extremely difficult. This is truly one of the best I’ve seen. maximuswedge....Everything you said about parts being HARD to find for a '65 Coronet is absolute TRUTH because it's a one year only body style. I have a '65 Coronet, 440 4 speed "project" car. @@shanew.williams yeah, it’s really tough man, almost better to get a donor a car if you can get lucky. I did notice in the Mopar classic industries book that there are some interior pieces, I was surprised to see the seat covers and the foam. If you have your dash, you can get some old D Dash 100 van seats. That would look sick. is there something in particular that you’re looking for? I’ve been looking for the trunk piece that goes across the entire trunk for eight years at swap meets and I can’t find one. I’m sure that someone’s got one hanging in their garage somewhere. LOL.

Yes@@maximuswedgie5149 i have the Classic Industries catalog. (I just can't afford their prices in the special "bits & pieces" but i doo order some mechanical from them, I need the WHOLE interior "panels" (door panels, sail panels, rear side panels (under the rear quarter glasses). I scavenged many bits & pieces from a 4 door ex police car, including a pristine red dash with steering column, wheel shifter etc. I DO need the rubber boot where the clutch rod goes thru tthe firewall (not paying $75) and i need the biggest round plastic stoppers that go in the trunk.

In those days. Us kids didnt have slicks. Cars then were developed for & prepared for use with street tires. Tires before radials were always struggling to keep up with increased power year after year. The tuna boat fat girls would hook up pretty good with coils & weight trancferance . The G 60 14s on my 64 SS Impala would be screamin but that front went up & back went down moving the car forward, with a quicknees . Quick enough to take on the 68 & 69 383 Road Runners in my world. Different tech then. We were evolving ... 327s

All that attention to detail and a FRAM oil filter. That's like a high end Steakhouse serving cheezwhizz on their burgers. This is a beautiful car with a high dollar performance engine. That's a minty mint 65. I had one when I came back to the states while in the Navy in 1969. Drove it till 72. Mine was white, black interior, auto on the floor, and 383 4bbl. with duals. I don't know if it came with Mallory dual point distributor or someone put it in but it had one. Always sounded like it might have been cammed a little also. Blast to drive and it kept up easily with 383 Roadrunners. Memories.

400/451 cubic inch: 3.75 stroke x 6.76 rod, 4.375 bore 1.320 CH piston. One of the original stroker kits for big block Mopars. These kits are nothing more than a 440 built with a really light piston. 3.750 x 6.760 (440 stroke and rod) but because the block is 3/4”shorter, the piston is 3/4” shorter and literally half the weight. We use a new 4340 steel crank and rods with your choice of forged pistons. Rings, bearings and balancing included. #Musclemotorsracing.com
