1965 FAM ("Ferrari's Ass Is Mine") Shelby Cobra start up.

This is a very rare Shelby Cobra (1 of only 2 remaining). Paul Walker owned the other FAM Cobra, CSX 1010, and this is the other one, CSX 4505. This car belonged to a collector who bought it right from Shelby American decades ago and it's been in his garage ever since. This particular FAM Cobra only has 0.5 original miles on it, yes 0.5 miles. This car has all the certificates of authenticity from Shelby American for both the engine and chassis.

There once was a sad Cobra who sat in his garage all the time because each of his owners were too timid to actually take him out and play with him. I remember one time one of the most beautiful automotive sights I've ever seen. I was driving on Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu and there in the tiny driveway of one of the seaside homes (one of the smaller homes along PCH) was a Ferrari Daytona Spider. It's red paint was dulled from the sun and it clearly was driven every day. Again, the most beautiful automotive-related sight I've ever seen.

This , if original, is the 289 cubic inch Ford engine Cobra. Although having much less horsepower that the later 427 engine, they were still so bad, that they would put skid marks on your skivvies.

It's a little bit of both. After Shelby won the 65' World Manufacturer's Championship, 10 were commissioned to be built. Over the next 30 years, only 4 were ever built but only two remain in existence. Paul Walker (from Fast and Furious) owned one (CSX1010), and this is the other one (CSX4505).

Any Shelby American Cobras built after 1967...including CSX1000 cars are not original Shelby Cobras, they would be considered Continuation Cars.

@@jamesyost1257 Shelby didn't race these in '65 because it missed the homologation deadline. When ford pulled the plug on the Cobra the (race) cars already built were prepped for street use and sold off as SC models. Less than 20 of these original SC's exist.
